BRAKES on the CF31RE with 5,200lb axles and 16" wheels: Do you know off hand what the diameter of the brake assembly is 10" or 12"? Our rear bearing seals allowed grease to contaminate the brake shoes and although I cleaned them they are spoiled and are now grabbing. It looks like the shoes and new magnet would be the same cost as the whole plate and assembly. A few dollars more and you can get self adjusting brakes.

I just did brakes on a 30+ tow trailer. They were 10". <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" />

As i did mine a few months ago. 10" also.

Both had the 5,200 axles.

That is not a sure bet that you have 10", But it is a good guess.

You could just crawl under there and pop up a tape measure real quick. An inch is pretty big difference.Edited by: danskool

I thought they were 12x2 brake shoes.

Whoops. Had it all reversed.. Figures that i would goof that up..

Just ran out and looked on mine, because i was so sure. The camper is here at home getting ready for storage. The tag was right there, 5200lbs AL-K0. tape measure, 12". I do so many, i get lost. Tape measure is your friend for sure.

Thank You both.
I'll get them on order.
