Actually, NO. Crossroads recommends that you NOT cover your trailer. The radius edged roof and changing roofline will wear from the cover scuffing at it during high wind and storms. I wrap my AC unit, already have vent covers installed, cover my fridge sidewall vent and lock my storage doors. That's it for winter here in Maine.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the new Cruiser!

I agree with Mike and CR...no cover (although this topic is often debated and some swear by them).

I would suggest NOT put a cover on your rig. Yes CR doesn't recomend it. Lot of the covers are sold but the pictures below explain the problems I had in just one winter in the midwest.Had 4 places where the cover rubbed almost all the way through the rubber roof material. Others where the slideouts roller arms tore through the cover material. Your call...........................

I really appreciate the feed back, thank you. Has anyone had a problem with the decals peeling because of the sun? I have heard this from a person that has a coachman 5th wheel.

No problems with mine as of yet. A good automotive grade blended wax will fight off UV damage to the finish and decals.

No cover for me either... I just wax once or twice year and wash the front after any long travels to remove bugs. As for the sun you never going to stop the sun damage unless you keep your unit in a dark garage. After 3 years I can see some sun fade on the front decal, but no peeling. _popupControl();

It's a Dicor EPDM roof, used on better then 60% of all trailers. You may have had a TPO roof before which has a "grain" appearance to the finish. The EPDM is easier to clean and smooth, it is also very durable. A TPO roof is more difficult to clean becuase the grain captures dirt. However, TPO is more resiliant to chemicals.

I haven't found the roof material to be thin, in fact I have given it a good scrubbing a few times now and it's made it through two Maine winters. A cover simply acts as a piece of sandpaper with the constant billowing a cover does.

No problem, I didn't take it that you were complaining. Here's a useful link on roofs:

I just finished having a portable carport put up for our cruiser. I went with a 18'x36' from Carolina Carports and had the side walls come down half way to more protection from sun. It cost about $3100.00. I will post picture as soon as I can find the camera.
