Hi Folks.
Cruiser 5er, heading through New England to Quebec city then down th ST lawrence seaway to 1000ISLANDS. Free to roam and no special agenda. We will hang out for a few days in multible locations. Open to all styles of camping. We have some but not extensive
travel experience in the 5er. Looking for routes and any and all camping ideas we just retired! I have read many great suggestions about trips in the past. THIS A VERY GOOD FORUM. Thanks sorry for the long wind Go Well AL&LKL

- When in Ontario, stay off of the 401 unless you're using for a Point A - Point B.

- Use alternate roads, and be sure to check out Hwy/Cty Rd#2 from Cornwall through to Kingston.

- Also take the 1000 island cruise out of Gananoque. http://1000islandsgananoque.com/

- Spectacular views!!!!

- Kingston is also a beautiful city with lots of history!

- Lotsa info here too... http://www.1000islandsinfo.com/camping.htm

1000 islands has a few KOAs which are nice. The one on the parkway called Ivy Lea is very nice.

Nice Start Park in the Thousand Island "Zone" - Higley Flow State Park. Three loops have electric - plenty of water faucets throughout the loops too.

Wellesley Island State park is along the St Lawrence. and is a nice big park. NY state parks use a reservation system -

If you like wine - spend some time in the Finger Lakes region of New York. Plenty of state parks and private campgrounds too.
