Caulking

Need to finish up some caulking on my unit before throwing the cover on. The temp is around 40f, is that warm enough or should I wait for the fifties to come back? Using Geocel's ProFlexRV sealant kept @ room temps.....

I would call the company and ask someone there that question...Even though the sealant maybe room temperature the temperature of the camper may affect the effectiveness of the sealant adhesion...I am thinking if the label on the sealant says 50 degrees it is meant both the sealant and the surface to which it will be applied to should be at least 50 degrees...

Pro Flex® RV Flexible Sealant is specifically designed for the recreational vehicle industry. It can be exposed to adverse weather conditions right after application. Pro Flex® RV Sealant has excellent expansion and contraction properties to withstand the joint movement and temperature changes associated with recreational vehicles. It bonds to many recreational vehicle materials, even damp, slightly oily, or frozen surfaces.

I have to wonder if the Pro Flex RV Sealant is what the factory uses during assembly, because I have to redo my whole RV...If so I am going to try something else...

Tommy, I usually use Dicor. Have no trouble with it.

Tommy not sure what CRds used when they made my unit, but I was told by the pros that every 6 to 7 years any unit should be recaulked. I do know Pro Flex is pretty nice stuff to work with and they also make a roof top caulk that is self leveling.......
