Couch Replacement

2012 Patriot CF305SK, that couch has got to go. Went out west for 9 weeks this summer, other than one blown tire (replaced all 4). Thank goodness I did the mod to the bed support prior to leaving. Had no problems with either truck or trailer other than sitting on that couch in the evening watching TV. We have the inflatable mattress which seems to have a bar that runs right near the back of the seat that always pushes me (and wife) forward. Makes things very uncomfortable. Has anyone changed theirs out? If so what replacement did you use, and where did you get it ?

Look for a small Lazyboy. The couch in our 335SS is great until you have to use it as a bed. Then it is the worse design I ever saw and so uncomfortable to sleep on. (when I'm sent out to it for snoring)

Tried to get the sofa replaced before we purchased our CF335SS - was not successful. The sofa is only sized for one person. On our trip out west our grandson used it every night,. He is over 6 foot and at least 200 lbs. Ours is not the inflatable type. Ours is the hide-a-bed sofa with folding innerspring mattress. We put some extra foam on the mattress to make it a little more comfortable.

When we are somewhere for a few days we switch the sofa and chairs - makes it more comfortable for reading or watching TV. Purchased the "plastic" gliders to make it easier to move the sofa and chairs.

I recently replaced my sofa sleeper (orig) with a Destination Tri-Fold Sleeper from Camping World. MUCH better sofa. Thick mattress but it is very firm. We place a folded quilt on top of the mattress to help soften it up a bit. It also sits a bit higher which we like. it's pricey but the factory sofa was just not worth the agony. I have only 64" of room to work with so finding a better quality sleeper was a bit tough. This one fit the bill and we are happy with it.

If Crossroads were in the furniture business they wouldn't have lasted 6 months. Worst junk I have ever seen but it's not just them. All of the RV's I have seen except for the high end ones have junk. IMHOEdited by: avvidclif

The sleeping width and length would be better than the one in our unit now - presently sleeping width is 41" and length is 72".

Did you have a hard time getting the old one out?
Did you purchase the 68" wide or 64" (The 68" wide would take up some of the space for the table chair).

The interior width of our side is 11 feet.

I bought the 64" one and it replaced a 64" sofa. Two people can sleep on it if they are normal size and "friendly"! I couldn't go larger (would have liked to) because of the dinette tableand chairs. Both sofas are easy to get out with two people. The backs come off of both to aid getting them through the door.

We just bought a 335ss and I had seen the theater seating in the Sunset Trail 32rl travel trailer so we asked if we could put that in place of the sofa. We measured and it is 3" longer but we are willing to make the sacrifice in the dining area to get the comfy theater seating. The color and stitching is the same as the recliners. When we have others with us, we're going to use a raised air mattress.

The theatre seats haven't come in yet but I do wonder how you get the furniture in and out. I assume you can get it out the front door. We will have to sell the sofa.

We felt the same about the furniture in our 305SKP.

For the price you pay the furniture is much less than quality furniture

, plus on top of that the slides would hit the recliners in the stow position.

So we replaced both the sofa and the recliners with La-Z-Boy.

The sofa is a sleeper and very comfortable, both to sit on and to sleep on, and the recliners don't hit the slides and also are very comfortable.

When we stow the recliners they just miss the slides (stowed back to back). We had an Everest fifth wheel that we purchased lazy Boy recliners for so they were easier to stow.

One of the reasons were thinking of the 68 inch - leaves you about the same amount of room as on the other side of the dinette.

The sofa is a sleeper. It is a "Diana Supreme Comfort Full Sleeper" and it is style number 500, on line. It doesn't give a model number, just a style number. This sleeper is 5 inches longer than the one CR puts in the camper, but MUCH more comfortable.

The recliners are called "Harbor Town Reclina-Way-Recliner". The style number is 532.Be careful if you go on line there are 3 styles of this same recliner. We got this style because it can be set closer to the wall without hitting and the frame is metal. On line you might want to change the recliner in the picture to a lighter color so you can get a better idea of how it looks.

There was something real funny on our sofa when I packed it up today: a sign that says "Patent Pending." REally? Who would want and who would award a patent for such a p*&s poor design.

We have a 2013 305sk built April 2012 with factory standard furniture. We'd like to take out the couch for several reasons. Earlier in this post it was mentioned that the couch back comes off for more easy removal from the trailer. Can anyone give me more specific info on how this works? We looked at ours and didn't see anything right off that looks like it comes apart, unscrews etc. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Is your couch a sleeper? If so when you pull the sleeper part out there are 4 bolts that you unscrew to take the back of the couch off. I can't help if it is not a sleeper.

We have it's twin, built April 2012 and a 2013 we just bought in Aug...Love it.
