If you are talking about the overhead cabinet with the lift up on a top mounted hinge. My 08 Cruiser has spring loaded things that look like a very small shock absorber that holds each door open.

dbflyrod- thanks for your response. You know exactly what I’m talking about.
In a prior 5th wheel the cabinets had the mechanism you’re talking about. We
tried to install the mechanism you mentioned. Screws were too long & getting shorter ones wouldn’t hold. There must be an alternative.

Hi Patsy, I'll take a closer look today and take a couple pics to see exactly how those things are attached on my unit.

Do a google search for "rv cabinet gas struts".

Pics of the strut in our cabinets. They measure about 6 in.

As mentioned previous, Google it up.

Yes, Lloyd"s pics are exactly what we have and better pics that I was able to get. I have not tried to shop for them. It does look like there should be no problem with screw length in either location as long as they do not protrude through the 3/4" door thickness. I'd probably start with a 3/4 or 1" screw for the door side. If it's a little too long use a small washer under the head. Be sure to pre-drill particularly in the Oak door.

I replaced one of mine a few years ago and used "JR Products #70555" . Looks just like Lloyd's and there 2 in a pack. They matched the "factory" ones to a T.

Try the Hamilton Boles hydraulic openers. Easy to install and they work great.
