Hi,

I'm in the market for a replacement 5th wheel hitch pin that might take the "bump" out of trailing. Does anyone have any experience or recommendations? We currently own a 2013 Crossroad Cruiser Model CF27RKX. Which is pulled by a 2012 Ford F-250 long bed pick-up. Thanks for any advice.

Thanks,
Eddy

I replaced the original pin box with this, and it made a big difference.

Lloyd,
I watched the video and read all the info supplied...does it handle the bridge gaps and other bumps along the way as well as they say it does? I'd be interested in looking into this. We're 1,500 miles into a 4,600 mile trip and the infrastructure of our country leaves a lot to be desired. There are some holes in the Interstate system that literally jarred my teeth. Seems it's easier to putup a sign that says "potholes ahead" then to fix the problems. Needless to say I would like to protect my unit as much as I can. Did you order it and install it yourself or have a dealer do it for you? Any additional info would be appreciated. As always"thanks in advance".

Jim

What is your pin weight percentage? If it is less than 20% I would try increasing it to about 25% and see how the trailer tows. You may find this will correct most of your problems and save money on cushioned pin boxes etc. Do not get me wrong as a cushioned pin box will help but should not be used to correct a basic problem such as low pin weight.

I installed a trailair air hitch on my cruiser. I haven't had a chance to try it out yet.

I had a trailair rotaflex on it before. The rotaflex was good on the back and forth motion but not too well on the bumps. I haveseen the trailers with the air hitch and was impressed. The one that fit the cruisers are going to be a L 05 model. I bought mine at adventurerv.net for about $850 shipped.

Happy camping

I ended up getting Ultra-Fab Rota-Flex 5th Wheel Pin Box with
Rubber Bushings - Lippert 1621 - 18,000 lbs. VERY well constructed!!! While it doesn't do away with the jarring completelyitdoes mask it very well.A lot softer overall and priced at 599.00 through Etrailer. Fast Free Shipping
