Just put our new '13 Patriot thru it's paces this past weekend. Our first camping trip with it. Very satisfied, only a few minor issues. Towed great and everything worked. We tried out everything we could think of. Hope things continue to function on all our future trips.

What better way to try it out than with a group of great friends. Glad it is going well.

Sort of got lost going to campground. Was going over winding hilly roads. NO PROBLEMS. Got a little over 10mpg. on the round trip. Still waiting for the Roadmaster Active Suspension to put on to level it out. It now drops about 2 inches.

Glad to hear nothing went wrong, we haven't heard too many positive camping experiences with CR lately.

Mark, did you get into any hills that had a big enough grade to see if that engine had enough guts to hold the camper back when you were going "down" hill? I sure hope so, cause I don't want to have to rely on the brakes totally.

I live on top of a mountain and have a 3/4 mile run down to bottom. I put it in manual mode and the engine does a good job of holding me back. Whatever way I leave from my home i'm traveling down a mountain. The Appalachian Trail (Blue Mountain) is right across from me and I travel up and down that mountain to get to I 78 sometimes.

Thanks for the report. That makes me feel a little more confident in my truck when we get in the mountains. I was having concerns about the little Eco Boost not having enough beans to hold the camper back. I'm coming from a Duramax so you can see my concern between the two.

I was curious about the f150 Eco Boost in less than flat conditions. That is a lot of trailer you have there Mark. Keep us posted. Glad to hear about a good experience.
Go Well

Al:
Yes, I am getting anxious to hook up and try the truck, plus do some camping!!!!!!!!!
The only place I see any snow is where it all slid off the roof of the camper building. Pretty big pile there.
Mark, sorry for hi jacking your thread.

WOW! I've heard a lot of good things about the eco-boost , but I am surprised at how much trailer you all are towing with it. Looking forward to hearing about it after some longer trips.

hate to be the bearer of bad news but you are way over every rating for the Denali. I would suggest you cancel the order. not sure what year Denali you have but the 2013 Towing guide states the Yukon Denali XL AWD w/ 6.2L has a max Towing capacity of 7800 lbs. That TT as a dry weight of 8641 lbs. You are looking at a loaded weight of close to 10,000 lbs that is 2200 lbs over your max capacity under ideal circumstances and rv's are never under ideal circumstances. I don't know what your payload is but if you check your drivers door sticker for "occupants and cargo should not exceed x lbs" you will find a starting number. that sticker will include a 150 lb driver and no other passengers etc. Subtract the weight of everyone who will ride in that vehicle plus pets, gear etc and you will get a better idea of your available payload. The trailer tongue weight has to be subtracted from your payload also. This TT is looking to have a loaded tongue weight of 1300-1500 lbs. in addition the trailering guide mentions a hitch receiver limit of 1000 lbs. You are in 1 ton range with this trailer and we havent even talked about the length.Your Yukon cannot handle this trailer. this isn't even remotely safe for your family. You need a trailer that weighs about half of this one. Sorry just being honest with you. Edited by: anaro
