Front Outside Hatch Latch Broke

The front outside storage Hatch latch broke this last trip on our 2013 335SS 5th wheel. It was a spring loaded piece of plastic that hooks over the lip of the door. I'd just replace it with the same but I was wondering if anyone has a better solution. I'd appreciate any ideas.

Somewhere on this forum, someone has posted a hatch door where they added struts to keep it open. If I find it I will post it. If anyone else knows of this post please respond here.

I was going to use struts/arms as well on my storage comp door (passenger side). After some deep thought and three beer - I decided against it due to the fact it would inevitably be in the way more often than not. Replace the clip and be done with it. Try a few beers for clarity...

Hmmm...seems to motivate me just fine. After several I almost always promote myself to supervisor.
