We have a 2006 Cruiser 5th wheel. We have recently purchased an HD TV set and can get no reception with the Cruiser's antenna. Our old TV picked up reception from close towns, but now, all we get is "no signal" messages. This happened when we were 20 miles from Dallas, TX also. I would think there would be TV reception that close. Any suggestions? Anything I need to add?

You can try adding the new HD adapter that Winegard has to improve digital reception. It costs about 30.00.

I added the Winegard Wingman adapter several months ago. I went fromreceiving only two digital channels to 15at my house. I am about 40 miles from where most of the Seattle stations transmit from.

Tweety's has the Wingman for $25.

I assume you did the scan on the new TV to find the channels and select for ant.I think the last time I used the ant, I had the booster off, either way you might want to expermint with it.I bet you already checked this stuff, but sometimes it don't hurt to redo it.Good luck.

Aiming the antenna is much more important with digital tv. It is all or nothing when it comes to getting a station. I got one of the converter boxes when Uncle Sam was giving them out for free. It works pretty good and it has a signal strength meter built into it. It really helps zero in on the stations. If you are 20 miles from Dallas, you should get signal with ease. It's been my experience that having the antenna turned even 5-10 degrees can mean the difference between strong signal and no signal. If your new TV doesn't have a signal strength meter built in, perhaps you should experiment with slightly moving the direction of the antenna (5 degree increments) and rerun the channel scan. Time consuming I know, but better than a blank screen.

Edit: Also, for the record, I always use the signal amplifier (on) and I get channels 45-55 miles away without adding anything to my stock antenna.Edited by: seanlcad
