We have a 08 CF32BL cruiser and seriously considering installing a coleman polar cub non ducted low profile rated at 9200 in the vent in the bedroom. My wifes cousin did it to his gulfstream Mako and it works great. He ran a seperate 12/3 wire with a regular 110 plug and a small breaker box in the storage compartment to use the 20 amp plug that is next to the 30 amp in most campgrounds. Here in south Louisiana it is so hot our 15K A/c Is not keeping up. What is your thoughts?

Several people have done that mod with good results. What is the price difference between the Coleman 9200 and a 13.5k? I am sure the 9200 will help but the 13.5k would work better and not have to run as much. I don't see how anyone that lives in the South that owns a trailer over 32' long and camps during the Summer can get by on one AC unit.

Something they are talking about is adding that as a factory option down the road...maybe if enough people are interested they will make it so as they have done with so many of our other suggestions.

Any trailer over 30' long should come standard withthe 15k A/C and the option to add a 2nd. It's been hot enough here in Indiana thatour 13,500 cannot keep the trailer under 80 degrees until dark. Even a 15k would run continous as hot as it has been. I would think a rig designed for the south would run 2 15K A/C units. What has itbeen, 30 some days of 100+ temps? Edited by: scott

Scott, 55 days here and today will be 56. Our record is 66 days and I see no reason that won't be broken.

Sure am glad we had the second unit installed, one of our better decisions. Left Texas July 7 and now on the coast of NC and it's still 98* with no break in sight. Takes both units running hard to stay comfortable during the day.

I once had a 08CF32BL unit just like your. You need to check to see where your TV antenna is. Mine was right in the way of mounting this second A/C in the Front Bedroom just as you mentioned. (Running off second 20AMP plug). On my unit, if they would have mounted the A/C unit on top, the crank up TV antenna would have to be removed as it was located downward from my bedroom roof vent. Then one has to (A) attempt to patch the hole, (B) relocate the TV antenna, and (C) hope that the hole doesn't leak and give more problems down the road....

Just food for thought. Check your unit though.

I moved the antenna to the side next to the sewer vent. CampingWorld had a patch kit and covered the hole with it. The price of the A/C with cieling unit was $663.00 and had it in stock. No shipping charge. If I would have gone with 13.5 low profile it would have had to be ordered> It was over $100.00 more and alsowould have had to pay 119.00 shipping.

Our 2011 30 ft cruiser is set up to add a second unit in the bedroom. It already has the wiring and box installed. My problem is our garage for our unit has a 12' 2 inch door opening, and our unit is 11' 10 inches. so installing the second unit is out of the question for me. Dang It !

Adding the second unit looks straight forward enough. Plug and play I hope! I assume the digital thermostate will recognize the second unit and those options will becomeavailable?Getting it on the roof looks to be the hard part.Where can I find the dark brown shroud option for my Saharawill I have to get that from Crossroads?

I had mine put on at the dealer. It was plug and play. Pay close attention to isolating the input from the output, they are both in that 14x14 hole. They said the hardest part was getting it on the roof and in the hole. It weighs about 110 lbs. That's more than I wanted to handle by myself....

I haven't done a lot of reading on it but I haven't found a way to turn off one unit while leaving the other on. Except for setting the temp high enough it wouldn't run.

The second unit I installed in the bedroom is a non ducted unit. I did not want to tie it into my ducts but wanted it to keep bedroom cool which it does. Works great.

Is it on the thermostat and cycles on and off like the ducted unit? The main reason I wanted ducted was it tied into the system and cycled off and on, not a continuously on fan with the compressor cycling like the non-ducted I have had.

I find it runs a lotquieter than the factory 15k. It keeps noise outside from bothering us.There is a knob to set the temp which cycles the compressor on and off at the desired temp. The fan runs all the time. If you want it to kick on and off like the factory unit you will have to go with a different setup. This particular unit works perfectly for our situation.

IMHO I'd get the ducted. You can always open the quick cool vent if you want.

No brainer, since live in Texas like me. Nothing else needs to be said. I have 2 15k and they won't stay up(below 80)in 105+ degree heat... Better 2 much than 2 little, especially for the difference in price.
