Hey, a remote. Great idea. Seems like you could simply replace the switch with a remote receiver and then take the remote inside. I did a quick Google search. Hum????

I've used mine once. When we were camping a Virginia International Raceway, I used them to guide my son who was arriving after dark to my camper.

I was thinking of trying to tie it into the multi-function remote, but just a separate little battery operated remote is a great idea! Will have to look at that as well.

That would work great as long as it will go through the trailer walls. I have found some of my led remotes are like the tv remotes that need to see the reciever to work

You need to buy a RF (radio frequency) remote and not a IR (infrared) remote. IR needs almost a direct line of site to turn off and on.

2015 Cruiser,

My Switch is in the front bay, right hand side, attached to the wall that faces for hitch. Now, that is a real crappy location. I remember it took me 10 min to find it, and yes it's black on black on black. I had to use a flash light and get on my knees to find it. Not sure I could reach it standing up. Just another Cruiser Project, I get to deal with. Along with the LED lights.. I think a total of 6 work, out of several dozen.

Neither does my 2011. Very confusing and I am glad I am not crazy! We just bought it and I have been going insane looking for the switch.

If it's like mine, one is for the front led strip and one is for the led "headlights".

The 3 foot blue LED on the front of my Sunset Trail had only a few LEDs on when I bought it. Here is a nice replacement set, from SuperBrightLEDs..
WFLS-B60-WHT: 100cm[39.3in] Blue - $12
I love those guys. I also got several other LED replacement lights from them.

I found my switch above the air vent for the left battery on the front wall. I also replaced the led strips on both sides with replacement amber led's from Super bright LED'S, Easy to replace, took 10 minutes and now look quite cool and non obtrusive.

I think they are just a little "Oh wow!" doohicky for the salesman to point out. I consider them pretty useless, especially with the switch position. I've thought about hooking up a string of leds in the compartment to have some decent lighting in there and use that switch and circuit for power.

I assume you have changed these out? I have the same problem, but wanted to get advice on the complexity of the operation before I ordered the new light strip and took the old lights out.

Thanks for the help.

It really could not have been easier. There are only two wires. observe polarity, the only issue I had was the wires were short to work on. Once I pulled them out of the pencil size hole.
The strip is too long, you have to cut it off at the designated spot. Be careful where you cut.

What did you use to mount the LED strip to the camper. One thing I read said that they do NOT come with an adhesive backing?

I can't comment to the exact ones he is using. The ones I use for work, always have 3M tape on the back. Works pretty good, usually. We have had to go back and use super glue to re-attach them.
