Owners beware...

Slide motor on dining room slide on our 07 30SK BUSTED...as in the housing cracked in half!

Trailer's out of warranty...but the card that came in the info packet for the trailer said the motors have a 3 year warranty...motors made by Lippert (yep...the axle people!)

Since we couldn't get the slide in we had to call a mobile repair guy...who said he would order the motor...supposedly under warranty.

Lipperts answer..."sorry, the 3 year warranty starts from date of manufacture, not the date you bought it, therefore it isn't covered...at $500.00 per motor!

Called Cruiser...great people by the way..who said they would contact Lippert.

Lippert calls me..."We're sorry, it must have been a miscommunication! We'll cover it under warranty...including labor.

So...the repair guy orders the part, comes out to the house (2nd house call, right?), puts the part in and says he'll work with Lippert.

Latest communication...Lippert says they'll cover the part and 1.5 hours labor...but not the cost of the house call!!! Well, at $90.00 per house call...the battle is on!

I'll let you guys know how it comes out....but be aware of what's in store if your slide motor goes out!

I would be interestedin knowing how hard itis to replace. Hopefully you can watch and report back. It's hard to believe the motors are 5 bills. I have the same year/model and will be watching this. thanks for the info.

Do I understand correctly that Lippert is a component supplier to a great many of the RV manufacturers in northern Indiana?

I don't believe that CR are the only ones using their products.

I would think that Lippert would not make that motor, it is more than likely a purchased motor form some one like Chicago Small motors. If you have the motor out I would check with Granger

Just to clear one thing up. Lippert is not an axle manufacturer. AL-KO is the company who has had trouble sending out defective axles (I have some). I see this from time to time on here. Lipper frames come with AL-KO axles but Lipper didn't make the axles.

I think that both of you are correct, that at one time they used the Al_KO Axles

They no doubt used Al-KO at some point because that's what I have. I just wasn't aware they ever made their own but it apears they must.
