Living room & Kitchen slides

Had problems with slides making noise going in and out and kitchen slide not closing tight in front. I took it in to my dealer and they found two gears locked up. Hos anyone experienced this type problem?

First of all thank you both for your service.
Do you have the Schniteck slides?

Do you have the Schniteck slides?[/Don't know what kind slides they are but they are the ones with the gear rails under the bottom and are made by Lippert. Thanks for your reply.

That sounds like the same slide mechanism as what is on our camper. I believe it's called rack and pinion. (I think)

If you look underneath when the slide is extended, you'll see a bell, plus an adjusting bolt with a lock nut on it. This what is used for adjusting the slide.

Yes that is what our camper has on it but the bedroom slide is different it has gear rails along each side at top and bottom. My RV is in the shop with the slide out. Crossroads sent the wrong gears so waiting on next shipment. Crossroads uses two different gears one with 15 teeth and one with 18 teeth. Ours has 18 and they sent 15 and they installed them before they realized it was the wrong ones.

Apparently they put the rack and pinion on the main slide and the Schniteck on the bedroom slide.

If you Google "schwintek slide troubleshooting" you'll find a few videos by Lippert on that slide.

I have the same unit with the same problem. Kitchen slide would not close completly, stayed open about 4". Entrance side slide stayed open about 8 inches. Called the dealer who sent someone to look at it and they could not fix the problem so they towed it back to their shop as is. That was the last week of Oct. it's now Jan. and I'm still waiting to get my unit back. LOTS of other problems, a long list for being 7 mo. old. I'm so sorry i bought this unit.

Cruiser CF34SS (2014)

Offduty 11: Got my slides fixed and working great now. I had a water leek on the shower drain so had an authorized warrant repairman come out today and repair the leak. I was talking to him about your problem and he said that whoever was working on your unit did not know what they were doing if they had your RV that long. He said you need to call crossroads and report your problem. This type service is unacceptable and no excuse for it. Good luck and keep us updated.

We had an issue with one of our slides not completely closing also. It turned out to be the motors were just out of alignment. We called our service provider and one of their techs walked us through resetting them. We didn't have to do anything under the slide and we haven't had the problem since. If we ever do, my Hubby now knows what to do. The Lippart YouTube videos were helpful also. We learned you need to run the slide out completely before running it back in. If you don't, and we weren't, it can cause the Schwintec slides to misalign. We are new to this type of slide system, so we are learning as we go! So very thankful for Greenway RV Sales and Service in Wisconsin Rapids, WI!

I told the dealer that I was not in a rush to get my unit back since I'm in the northeast and it would only be sitting in my backyard until April, but it would be nice if I was updated on the progress of 14 other repairs needed. Also check the bed frame in the 34ss. There is a post with pictures somewhere in this forum of a 34ss owner who had a problem with the bed. Looking at his before and after pictures the before pics looked just like my bed frame.

I have the same unit with the same problem. I just learned last week that the slides have a problem with a single bolt bracket and CR is aware of this so they now replce it with a double bolt. I'm not sure what the part is. I hope you have better luck than me because I'm in my 3rd week of not having my unit in my paid seasonal site. The dealer still can't get the slide fixed correctly, They are waiting for help from Lippert.
