Can anyone tell me what torque to use on the factory aluminum wheels? I'm in the process of replacing the valve stems with full metal stems so I can re-install my TPMS. The local Discount Tire store doesn't have much of a parking lot to handle a trailer, so I'm removing two wheels at a time.Good thing, I found I needed a deep socket for the recessed lug nuts on the aluminum wheels and several of the nuts were on so tight the break-over bar almost didn't work. Better to have these issues now than on the road. But Discount Tire does have some very nice full metal valve stems, better than any I found online.

Hank,

Thanks, I couldn't remember. I was just guessing and did the intial torque at 90 ft/lbs, so I'm probably OK.

In 8 years now with a Crossroads product I have always very sucessfully used 8o ft pounds on all aluminum wheels. That is what I was originally

directed to do and never a problem! IMHO ,Must remember those are only 1/2 in studs.

We were at the Crossroads factory last week and had them do some warranty work. They had to remove the wheels and reinstalled them. I asked Randy what Torque they used and he said 95 foot pounds. Good enough for me, that's what I now use.
