more faded caps

We got lucky, I had pictures showing the cap fading before the warranty was up and they repainted it at no cost to us. I was really happy they did the right thing and honored the fact that it had started fading before the warranty was out.

My cap faded horribly after a year and a half. 32bh. The dealer could not get Crossroads to do anything and they told me to get lost, the warranty was over. I ended up having the front cap painted with auto paint and it looks great! Cost was $1200, it would have been $1700 if I wanted the decals put back on but I figured why spend the money to advertise for Crossroads so it is bare which is fine with me. Very poor customer service!!

I have a 30 year old ski boat, that had never been waxed and was under a cover 95% of its life. It still faded/chalked over the gel coat, you couldn't even see that it was metal flaked blue in some spots. I used Comet, a small amount of water, a mild Scotch brite pad and elbow grease. Once done I applied a wax coating, not sure what brand. It came out looking like it did when it was new. Now 2 1/2 years later, it still looks great.
Worth trying, and a cheap fix.

remember that 30 yr old gelcoat was better than the new crap gelcoat that fades right away. any coloured trailer or even gelcoated boats wil need to be painted or if you get it new...clearcoat it asap.

2015 Cruiser, faded badly, I'm going to do some meguires oxidation remover this week, then add bout 3 coats of wax, If this don't work, I'll strip off the oxidation and use automotive clear cote on it.

The problem is in the gel coat color. Not sure a clear coat will stop the fading. Here is a product that you can use, but a little expensive.

Products To Restore and Protect Oxidized Surfaces

Guys...dont waste you time with oxidation remover and wax...have to paint it . Any boats with colour like red ,blue ,brown all fade and cannot be brought back for any length of time.
