Just picked up our new CF285RL last Friday. Taking off in the AM (if I can wait that long) for our shakedown cruise. It's just a weekender to get used to it. Going over to a state park on Lake Tawakoni in East Texas. Anything I need to watch for?

It took so long to post because of the delay in getting approved...

more to come.....

Nothing really to watch out for. Just try all the systems to make sure everything works.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the new Cruiser....
Have fun and turn everything on and off several times... use all the systems to make sure all is well...
If you don't mind which dealer did you get your Cruiser from?

Mike

Just watch out for how much you will enjoy it. We wouldn't trade ours for anything else.

Welcome to the family....you are doing the right thing by sticking close to home to get used to all of the ins and outs of the trailer. Have a pad of paper to write down questions to ask you dealer or to post here. You can also make a list of items you have forgotten....i.e. we forgot extra bacon this trip...
good luck an enjoy....

Since you have the same floor plan as Hank(hhh) you might want to check out the pin box flex post.

We bought it from Athens RV. A family owned dealer. Carlton (the owner) and Justin (service advisor) stayed late on Sat showing us around. No pressure, just questions answered. We received a batter deal on our trade than the national rv dealer in the area on a much better constructed rv. It was ready when it was supposed to be and Dustin (rv tech) took well over an hour to explain everything. All systems were checked and demonstrated to me, except sewer (thankfully). All tanks had water and no leaks. Etc etc. I had ordered a hitch (different place)they were going to install but it didn't arrive in time. No problem I used my son's PU to pull it home and when my hitch arrived they put it in, no problem. Also picked up a replacement for the broken latch (closet door).

Would I do it again, sure. Great people to do business with. They had a number of other "perks" from buying from them, discount on supplies, free yearly inspection, and just nice people to deal with.

Good luck on your shake down cruise. Better hope the AC doesn't shoot craps. The temps in our area (Lakes Tawakoni and Fork) are forecast to be over a 100 for the next several days.

Made it back home. We got to check out all systems except the heater (for obvious reasons). Everything worked and no leaks, nothing just worked as it should.

We arrived Fri abt noon and got set up. First order of business was the AC. By 6pm it still was 80 deg in the trailer and the AC had not cut off. I didn't bring my thermometer to check inlet vs outlet temp and see if it was working correctly but if it's working I'm thinking seriously of the second AC unit. More to come on that. I'm thinking the outside temp of abt 104 had something to do with it... Usually when it's that hot I'm hunkered down in the house with 4 tons keeping me cool... BUT I just had to take out the new trailer....

Had fun anyway

picked up my new cruiser in fla 6-21,while there another owner was there having a second a/c installed on his new unit,he was in st.augustine on camping trip to the beach and said it was hot.
we took our unit to ga. mtns the next week and it took a day and a half but it finally cooled off,the boss lady says we are getting a second a/c soon. it must be a common problem. have 4 little nit pick warranty items that need handling, they will have to wait till nov.
good luck with your unit, the boss like her's better than our old laredo,so i'm happy

Glad you can add a second one to help solve the 100-degree blast furnace. It was in the mid 90's this past weekend with no mid-day shade at our campsite. With the extra insulation, thermo-pane windows and a fan inside to help circulate, the 15K AC kept things around 73-74 but it never shut off until later in the evening.
