On Thursday we are taking delivery of our 2011 CF30SKP. It is supposed to have a stainless steel sink but it doesn't and we are wondering if anyone else's came in that way. Our dealer is working with the factory and it is not a deal breaker but the DW says she want's stainless because she sets very hot pans in the sink from time to time.

The Patriot package says it comes with a stainless sink. If the DW wants it I would make it part of the deal. It would be easier for them to change it now then you do it later.

I agree with Hunter. Do it now. The Patriots come with stainless steel sinks. Just for sure, make sure they are really selling you a Patriot addition with all the Patriot options.

Oh, no question it's a Patriot. I actually could spot all the new Cruiser Patriot's on the lot by the different pin box. It has big graphics on the side that screams Patriot. Everything in the unit that the Patriot package calls for is there except the sink. It seems that the countertop sink cutout that Crossroads chose to use didn't match any stainless sinks that they had in stock when the unit was built. Our dealer had several 2011 Patriotoption Cruisers on the lot and they all had composite sinks. He is checking for us. We take delivery tomorrow and I'm not sure the factory will have it for him by then but I can hope. I don't see it as a big deal to swap out later. I need to prep the unit for several big time fall trips that we have planned this year. Any delays and I might as well buy it next year.

Is the sink under mounted in the counter top or is it a drop-in. The stainless sinks are under mounted. If all the Patriots he has on the lot have composite sinks then maybe Crossroads has switched to that and just not updated the literature.

You are dead on. The dealer took the 5th. The literature says "options subject to change without notice". He almost stiffed us for the clock but pulled one from another camper and mounted it where we wanted. The composite sink is mounted under the Corian countertop. Guess we have to live with it. The DW says it wasn't a deal breaker but she was disappointed.

Our 2011 Cruiser 30SKP also arrived without the stainless steel sink. We took delivery of the trailer at the end of May but by the time the sink was ordered/backordered it was time for us to leave for our vacation. We will be bringing our Fifth Wheel in over the next week to have the stainless sink installed. We have the corion countertops and our current sink is an under mount. Our dealer had no problem ordering the sink and haven't expressed an concerns about the install.
I found that the composite sink stained quite easily so I'm hoping all goes well.
I'll let you know how it goes.

We had a couple of small issues like this when we took delivery of our Patriot, but it was 100% the fault of our salesperson. Our dealer made everything right for us, with two exceptions, but has since installed a couple of options at no cost.

Our 2011 30SKP also came with the composite rather than stainless steel sink. The dealership said they could install a stainless steel sink but it would require modifying the counter top. We kind of like the counter top the way it is so elected to take a store credit instead.

When our dealer went to install the stainless sink that was ordered to replace the composite sink, they discovered that it no longer fit the opening of the 2011 Crossroads Cruiser. They were willing to do whatever it took to make us happy. It would be a big job....countertop would have to come out etc. The other option was to compensate us with product.
Since our current sink is beautifully installed and has no leaks, we decided not to push our luck just in case something went wrong with the re & re; therefore, we decided to take "option 2" which was to pick out a few goodies for the trailer equaling the quoted $$$ for the updated sink and install.
Even though I was disappointed in not having the right sink in the first place....at least we feel somewhat compensated and I must say that it was nice to have a choice.

Orchid_57 I am glad things worked out for you. The problem I have with this whole thing is that Crossroads is still listing the stainless steel sink in the floorplan writeups for the Patriot edition trailers. If they in fact have switched to a composite sink permanently then they should update the writeups so people know what they are getting. They have updated the floorplan drawing so there is no excuse for not updating the writeup. These are the kind of things that get people upset.

I absolutely agree with you!!!
The documentation and the 30SKP that we saw at the RV shows last Jan and Feb had a stainless steel sink so of course we were surprised when ours arrived with a composite. I certainly would have had them change it if I wasn't worried that some possible damage could result by removing the counter, never mind everything else that would be involved. Even though I know they would fix anything that went wrong, we just didn't want to chance yet another issue. It was at least comforting to know that the dealership was behind us in whatever decision we chose.
I am curious dalemac37....since you have a 2010. Did your unit have a stainless steel sink?</span>

Orchid_57 our 2010 has the stainless steel sink. It was built in July, 2009.

Based on past discussion and my viewing yesterday of new units laundry chutes are also removed. We looked at several new units and I couldn't find the chutes, but yet it's listed in as a standard feature for the Cruiser.

Glad to hear that at some point the stainless steel sink did exist We have an awning mat and a set of Barker Manufacturing Snaps in place of ours:-)
I have to say that although our dealer has come good for all the issues to date (we bought our unit in May/2010) I am a bit disappointed in the quality control at Crossroads before leaving the factory. Our unit had some cosmetic dents and scratches inside and there was a small bit of fiberglass damage on the outside. All was repaired but one would think that these might have been caught on final inspection. Ah well....what do they say...all's well that ends well...except for the sink in this case

Most of the dents and scratches on the out side occur when it is in transit. They are not suppose sleep in them but some do

We just tried to use the black water flush kit for the first time and it flooded the vanity, the bathroom, everything in the cargo hold and filled the underbelly. At least it was fresh water. It has taken 4 days to dry everything out. Not sure I like the backflow preventer valve being installed under the bathroom sink.
