Found a good deal on an 07 29RE so that's what is taking the place of our 03 27RL we turned over to the insurance company last week. We drove over the 150 miles over into AR yesterday to pick her up. Last night we stayed over at Village Creek State Park to really check it out and give her a bath. Not too much improvement in the owners manual in four years !

Wow - the lack of any storage space under the sink (we have the 10gal water heater) is a challenge. Has anyone configured a good idea to use what little space is there ?
I have used a Flush King in the past, with great results. I would appreciate any input on the use of the blank tank spray outlet. I tried it, but it seemed to be rather weak at whatever it was doing. Anyone know what is really going on inside there ?
We experienced the frustration we used to read about concerning the velcro curtains and tiebacks - the 03 models didn't have such niceties. But the day/night shade are great, as is the tinted glass.

I would be interested in hearing and/or seeing any mods that anyone has done RE specific. Much appreciated !

Sorry to hear about the damage to your RV but glad to hear youfound another with a great floor plan. We are a little partial I guess because that's what we have. I'll list the mods we have made and attempt to add picture which I have not done before.

Enjoy your 29RE.

1- Added single handle faucet w/ sprayer to kitchen sink.

2- Added a battery master switch inside front compartment. ( red handle in pic )

3-Added a second battery and extension rod for dump valves ( hanging ) in pic

4- 5'' X 7' vinyl fence post w/ caps for sewer hose just behind spare tire.

5- Converted under sink panels to doors for access under the sink

6- Added wire rack drawer in cabinet under the stove.

7- Added a fold down counter topextension.

8- Added a plug in near the floor at the end of the counter

on separate circuit for electric heater

9- Added a door and magazine rack to the shelf in the rear of the trailer.

I did my under sink cabinet just like Dennis did. I was able to find the matching hardware at Lowes.

We seem to have factory installed doors under the sink already ? Perhaps it was one of those minor changes done each year ?

The counter top extension would be a VERY GOOD mod. How did you attach it so it was level with the existing counter top ?

The drawer under the oven sure beats digging around to the back of the storage space. That one needs to go on my list as well !

Hello tneagle,

The counter top extension is 3/4'' plywood with formica from a local floor covering co. that matches. It is formica brand. The hinges are attached to the under side of the counter and underside of extension. I had to notch the counter trim and the underside of the addition. Where the struts attach to the end of the counter a 1 X 4 was added inside as a stiffener because the cabinet is very thin.

The pan drawer is from Bed Bath And Beyond. Had to raise it about 5'' from the floor to clear the cabinet. In fact I used the left overs from the 5'' vinyl fence post.

Wife liked these changes also.

Have fun

Dennis

When I was doing some comparisonpricing on my rig I found some photos of a 29RE at a dealer back east that had the doors under the sink that opened. I had my dealer check and he said the units with the 6 gallon water heater had opening doors but with the 10 gallon tank the doors were fixed. That could be the difference? Or, it could be the previous owner already did the mod.

The other thing in the photos of the other rig was the cabinet to the left of the range had 3 or 4 drawers instead instead of one drawer and a cabinet door. Never got an answer why that difference. Was the same year, an '05 as mine. So it is possible some just got built different.

In any case, congrats on the newrig. Since the 29RE was only available for a couple of years, us that have them considerthem a true "limited edition"...Edited by: shoetravel

Ooops. Just re-read your post. You mentioned the 10 gallon water heater. AsI said, could be the previous owner already did the mod. I recall several of us discussing this on the old forum.

I picked up a vinyl fencepost today for the purpose of building a sewer hose storage. Please give me details on how you attached this to bottom of trailer.

thanks!

Here you go Pulpwood, this is how I did mine.

Removed short section of underbelly retaining strap, 5'' or so each frame rail.

Drilled two holes on each end of the postinline with the frame large enough for the necessary socket to install the bolts. Used self drilling / tapping screws and screwed it to the frame.

Had to notch the tube for the gas line, installed fixed post cap on curb side and modified a cap so it would hinge on the street side. I hold it shut with a stainless cotter pin on a chain. Works great. I also drilled some additional holes in the bottom for drainage.

Good luck and happy camping

Dennis

Thanks, this is how I pictured it. I'm trying to avoid any holes if possible. Wasps and dirtdobbers are terrible here and will find any small hole.

Hoped I could get self-tapping screws in from end of fence post. Thought about spacing down from the frame so wouldn't have to cut notch for pipe. Will give it some more thought.

At one time I really considered mounting it on top of the rear bumper, but I'm afraid that the nice glossy finish will fade in the sun and start looking crummy.

You could probably find plugs at a hardware store that would snap in and plug the holes.

You would want to plan the hole size based on what size plugs you can find.

happy camping

We took the curtains and tie backs off and really like not having the hassle. The curtains were attached over the top of the valance with decorative nail heads. I thought I would put the nails back in if the the holes were noticable. can't even tell where they were.

We have a 06 RE29. Originally, thedoors under the sink were stationary, but we had the dealership put hinges and handles on them. There is not much room under there, but we added a wire basket on the door to hold dish soap, etc. We also squeeze a small wastebasket and cleaning items/products under there.
