We recently bought a 2006 Cruiser CF29RK 5th wheel. This is our first RV and we are learning about LOTS of new and unexpected aspects of RV's. Since it was 7 years old, I didn't think it a reason for concern that a few of the screws holding on the the trim were slightly rusty. I was wrong! When I tried to remove a couple, I found some were completely rusted off...and the head came off! Even the shanks of the ones that looked good were rusting. (This includes the ones holding the ladder to the roof which I had been using)

I am preparing to replace all the screws on the trailer with marine 316 stainless steel screws which will each have Pro Flex RV applied to the threads before insertion.

I also intend to replace the vinyl insert that covers the screws at the roof line...but, dah, I forgot to measure the size! Our trailer is a two hour drive from here. I see that there are two common sizes: 3/4" and 1". Can anyone tell me which size to orderI really don't want to make a special trip to measure it!

Thanks,

If miy camper was that far away I would get both sizes and return the unused size, If not its cheaper to buy both than go and measure and use the wrong size in the work shop for something else. Personaly I would buy the longer of the two.

I think most new campers are 3/4". My 07 Zinger is.

Ken
I noticed when I re-caulked some trim, took the trim off and replaced the screws any place the trim was curved they used 1" screws any place the trim was straight they used 3/4" screws.
