Anybody had this problem?

On our last trip in the 325CK, the scare light wouldn't turn off. We flipped the switch on and off several times and still wouldn't respond.

I figured it had to be a bad switch, so I removed the electric panel in the kitchen and unplugged the wires from the scare light switch.

Looked outside and the scare light was ... STILL ON. Seems like there must be a short someplace. We wound up just removing the bulb finally. In the spring, it'll go to the dealer so they can figure out the problem.

As I recall from a while back, the newer units have a remote which also turns the lights on and off. Others who had this issue had to do something with the remote first. Do a search on this forum as it was discussed about a year ago.

If you have the remote, that would be the problem! Been there done that!

what do i need to do with the remote? my remote doesn't seem to have a function for turning on any lights. It just operates the slide-outs, the awning and the landing gear.

am I missing something?

It's a little button that looks like"power on-off" but it actually controls the scare light. Same thing happened to us, took out the switch, disconnected the wires and finally removed the bulb then discovered a posting about the remote....problem solved.

Thanks to all who suggested it was the remote that was causing my issue with the light. That was, indeed, the problem. The button that looks like a light bulb, which switches you to where you can adjust the contrast on the remote's screen, also controls the scare light. Who'd have thunk it? Thanks again. You all are great. One less warranty issue to worry about.
