Looks like the white seals around the outside of some of our slideout rooms are coming loose from the body of the trailer in several places. It looks as though they were only tucked in behind the bodywork of the trailer with some sort of caulk/adhesive applied to bind the seal to the trailer's body panels.

Anybody else have this problem? How did you address it?

I have a seal thats pulling off too that needs to be addressed. Its caused by sticking to the slideout when its moving out. A little bit of silcone spray should help. I try and do mine twice a year. There is a screw at the top and bottom and caulking that holds it on. Make sure to clean all old caulking off before applying new caulking.

A little baby powder sprinkled on an old sock. Run it up and down on the bulb seal and where seal meets the back of the slide. No more sticking, refresh it periodically.

baby powder is a good idea. I will try that. silicone spray works well but it seems to collect dirt and my white seals never look that white anymore.

I like this idea.

Thanks for powder suggestions. Anyone have advice on how to get seals reinstalled in their channels?

What particular seals, if they are bulb seals {exterior) you remove old caulk and there is a screw top and bottom. Remove them and the seal slides off a track. Clean and slide up track and re-caulk. I have no input on the others other the clean reguarly. Others will respond.

Well, we just re-installed one of those seals. not as hard as it seemed at first. we'll caulk it tomorrow. too late and too many mosquitoes tonight. of course, we took care of the easiest one first -- at eye level under the bedroom slider. We're heading off on a trip in a few days. Replacing these things may give us something to do while we're not doing something else. We just put the square-drive screwdriver, some caulk and the razor blade scraper in the trailer. At least now we know it's a doable project and not something we have to take back to the dealer for warranty work (losing the trailer for who knows how long?). Thanks for all the advice. it has really helped.

You may want to consider this simple tool over the razor scraper. http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/cata...;keyword=caulk
