Slide Roller
I have a slide roller that was installed improperly and now there is a crack under the slide out for the bedroom. Dealer says the roller was installed wrong and Crossroads is not wanting to cover the problem. Trying to call Crossroad Customer Service to discuss that if the roller is installed wrong, they should fix it.

Let me guess, the slide is a Schwintek slide correct.???? It is a common problem for the Schwintek slide systems...CR was installing metal plates for the rollers to run on, for eariler models with the same problem, but don't know if they are still doing that...Sorry I can't help any more than that but at least it is a point for you to start...GOOD LUCK...

Wow, so finding out how little Crossroads cares about customers after the sale. Talked to Tom (no last name needed because he is the only one) in customer service and he said because we are past the warranty period, which was only 1 year, they will not do the right thing and repair a roller THAT WAS INSTALLED INCORRECTLY FROM THE START. How can it be our fault that we didn't find an item that was installed incorrectly until it damaged our bedroom slide!!

I agree. Sad.
I bought an extended warranty for just that reason.

I have an extended as well, went with the upgraded one as well. It doesn't cover anything structural. $5,000 to repair the damage and it's our fault we didn't find their error before the warranty was up. All from a part that was installed incorrectly....but it's our fault for not catching it!! Ridiculous and poor customer service to the greatest extent.

We camp with friends that have a model with the Schwintek bedroom slide, and they have been dealing with this problem since they bought the camper...It is not totally the roller...The problem is the slide itself is too heavy, and the Schwintek slide system can NOT handle the weight, therefor putting to much pressure on the roller...At least that is how it was explained to our friends...

Did CrossRoads admit it was installed wrong? If they say it was right, how can warranty not cover the damage done by a part failure?
So i guess if a pump fails and water damages the camper then they only fix the pump??
Can it be an insurance claim?

So, after talking with several people at CrossRoads, they finally agreed to repair the issue. The roller is installed 3 inches to far to one side and didn't even travel on the aluminum plate that is under the floor for the roller to ride on. At first, they kept saying it was out of warranty and our point was if it was installed wrong, which was documented by the dealer, how could CrossRoads not cover it, even if the warranty is up. So we really appreciate them stepping up and doing the repairs. Now we have to wait a month for the repairs to be done. My understanding is that the slide has to be removed to reposition the roller and repair the area under the slide that was damaged from the roller riding on the fiberglass and plywood that is under the bed. Our dealer is Vogt out of Fort Worth and they have been great. Hopefully, this is the last issue!!

Glad you were able to get the repairs authorized by Crossroads.
