Solera Hybrid Awning

Last trip out we see our awning needs to be replaced so we are looking at a Solera Hybrid. Looks like a power awning but you crank it in and out. We know nothing about them but like that we will not have to run a 12 volt line and if the motor quits we will not have to climb up on something to crank it in. We have a Carefree now that needs new fabric but the short arm on the 5th wheel is so tall we have to use a step stool to put the rafter in place and tighten the knob. The Solera just cranks out then looks like a power awning without the power. Anybody with any info - the good-the bad -or anything else please chime in. And go!!!!

Alot of fifths have the awning right at the roof edge. Can you put a c channel about 6" above the door and position the awning from that height ? Then the knobs will be at the height of a pull behind. If so ,you can use your existing arms and tube and just buy materia. And a c- channel.

Because of the short arm at the front the awning is as low as it can go. If we decide to go with the hybrid they will have to put another awning rail above the existing one to allow for the height of the front arm. Just not sure about this Hybrid awning. Hopefully someone on here has one or is familiar with it. Anyways going to the dealer tomorrow to check them out. A independent dealer not CW!

Ok how about this does anyone have a Solera awning of any kind? Not sure of the brand. I have had Carefree and A&E awnings.

I believe Solera is a Lippert brand.

Yes the Solera is Lippert. Went by the dealer Friday on the way to the campground and he DOES NOT RECCOMEND the Solera Power Awnings. Does not know anything about the HYBRID. Still looking for any information on it. Did a google search but could not find much on the SOLERA HYBRID. If anyone on here has one or knows someone with one any information would be great.

Well I guess no-one has ever heard of the Hybrid but after a lot of surfing the old innerwebs' I pulled the trigger on one. As soon as the dealer gets it in and it is installed I will post a review. Just like a power awning but you turn a crank to extend and retract. No motors to go bad. And no rafters to extend. Hope all goes well. The dealer has done some other work for us and I trust them and no its not a camping world!
