We are really enjoying our 335ss. Are we supposed to turn off the gas when we travel and if so, how do you keep your refrigerator cool?

I travel with the gas on. Some turn it off to fuel up, some don't but most travel with it on.Edited by: anaro

Some folks will get the fridge up to temp before they fill it for travel then turn the gas off when they set out. The fridge will keep everything fine for 4-6 hours may vary some in very hot weather.
We travel with gas on most do I believe.

Mine is always on while traveling, however there are a few bridges and tunnels that have restrictions regarding even transporting propane, something to watch in your travel plans. As stated, some people turn the propane off when refueling, however that is not what is really critical. The danger is gasoline fumes being ignited by the spark from the refrigerator's DSI, so it is more important to turn the refer off than it is to turn the propane off.

Seems to me the whole reason to keep the gas on is to keep the fridge cool. Dayle, do you turn your fridge off and keep the gas on?

99% of the time I keep both on, otherwise I just turn the refer off. Some owners add a remote shutoff for the refer that they use when refueling so they don't need to open the stairs/door etc to shut it off. If your tow vehicle is diesel and there are dedicated diesel pumps away from gas pumps, then there is very little risk with the refer being on.

I never thought about fridge being lit while refueling...I suppose it makes sense to shut it off, but never have.

Now our fridge is on other side of unit (away from pumps), so I imagine it is less of a concern.

We keep our's on all of the time. Where we travel, it's pretty hot and I don't want to take the chance of food spoiling, especially mayo etc.

Gas stays on unless there are speciifc restrictions - such as the Nova Scotia to PEI ferry. Otherwise - always on when travelling.

We keep our gas on when we travel. We travel south in early January and I stop on an exit about an hour before we are going to stop for the nite and turn the furnace on. By the time we stop, the trailer has the chill off and it is a lot more comfortable.

I always travel with the propane on unless restricted, some tunnels restrict propane from being on while you are going thru. You will be notified by road signs of this in most cases.

For tunnels, I know you can not take any propane (on or off ) thru either tunnel in Baltimore (895 or 95). You have to either take the key bridge or go around on the beltway (695).
