Just pulled our Patriot from Chicago to Florida with wall hung cabinets loaded fully with canned goods, books etc and were pleased to find them still attached to the walls and not laying on the floor when we arrived. Anyone know if there is a weight limit for these and if we should wait for arrival before filling?

Thanks, Bruce

Don't know about limits, had some heavy things in alivingroom wall mountedcabinet and the bottom started to come apart, fixed it and am carefull of what we put in now. Kitchen cabinets seem to be holding up real well.

We prefer to put all heavy items either in the basement or on the floor for long runs. That helps not damage anything and keeps the weight low for better center of gravity, just in case.

We had the bottom of a cabinet fall through on a Shasta we had in 2000 on a trip to Colorado and I didn't think it was loaded all that heavy. I just don't take the chance anymore with rough roads and heavy items.

Good question, I know I need to balance the load on my pantry shelves otherwise I note a bit of a sag from the thin material.

We leave ours packed as they are when in use. We have never had a problem yet.

Your question is all but impossible to answer. There is is no one size fits all due the various load factors, the bouncing up and down, jerking side to side and how far you travel on average.

The breaking point is like a piece of copper wire. Bend it once, twice or even three times and it will not break. Continue bending at a rapid rate and "bamm" it breaks.

It's like the old saying, "everyone has a breaking point, some just take longer than others"

We hae learned not to carry a bunch of staple goods as they can be purchased anywheres and I don't want to pull anymore weight that is necessary. We always lightly load upper cabinets as it only seems a smart way as others have said about center of gravity and canned goods etc do add up in a big hurry. Justtravel light & you will be fine.JMHO jb
