So the second pane of glass is very close to 0.5 cu. ft. and should therefore add about 81 lbs to the trailer weight. There should be minimal difference in weight for the frames between single and dual pane. DP frames may actually weigh less since they lack the steel crank-out mechanism. In the past I have seen info that DP windows add about 100 lbs, so that seems like a realistic number."</td></tr></t></table>

Speaking of weight - when we looked at the CF335SS

5th wheel before we made the purchase the salesman showed us a sticker in the

kitchen cabinet that showed the weight with the existing options - I think it

was 10,050 lbs. The "advertised" dry weight is9741 lbs.

I do not know if the propane tanks were full (doubt it at that time). We are</span>adding 3 slide awnings which I think should be about 100 lbs. with the hardware. </span>I'll re-check the sticker when we take</span></span>delivery.</span></span>Is this something Crossroads does with all of their trailers - weight the trailer with the options installed?</span>

The trailers are weighed as they leave the factory. They are not reweighed when the dealer installs options. My sticker says "does not include LP, water or dealer installed options.

Jimar, I have been happy with my rig. A few minor things wrong (OK, one big thing but that is a long story) that was taken care of at the factory. I have found Crossroads to be very responsive to issues. I'm 1200 miles into my trip to the FL Keys for the winter and have no further problems. My only real complaint with the rig is the size of the toilet room, it should be bigger. Minor issue I still have is I feel the hinged TV mount is on backwards. As you try and swing it out it swings towards the wall so there is little movement. Problem is it can not be mounted the other way because there is no backing in the wall where it would mount. I plan on fixing that at some point.

For me the layout works well. I travel alone so I removed the sofabed and put in a LazyBoy. Now I can really relax while watching TV at night.

Took delivery on Monday - my sticker indicates 10,014 lbs. No propane, no water and dealer installed options.

I have added 2 Maxxair II vent covers and a fantastic fan in the bedroom.

I've come to the conclusion after talking with numerous dealers, that the "out the door" factoryweight is nothing more than a federal requirement for the mfg'er and nothing more.

You ask any salesperson what the actual weight of a given RV, as it sits on the lot, and you get a bunch of "duhs". Same goes for hitch weight or pin weight, they don't have the foggiest.

There's probably not one salesperson in ten that has a full and complete understanding of the percentages of pin weight to totalunit weight . Let alone the adverse effect on towing or the tow vehicle.

As far as dealer add on options, they're not required to change the weight data sticker or plate and thus becomes a non-issue with the dealers. This especially true if a dealer trades or sells the unit to another dealerafter adding dealer add-ons. It's an issue that gets lost in the paper work shuffle.

The only sure way to determine exactly what your hitch or pin weight is, upon taking delivery, is weigh the unit on a CAT scale. The most accurate is to weigh the TV and RV together, then disconnect the RV leaving it on the scales and drive the TV off the scales, thus getting a RV only weight. This enables your to get an accurate pin weight without a lot of calculations.

285rl great layout for 2 people(not so good with others as everything is out in the open in bedroom),we enjoy the extra room in the bedroom by not having the walls around the shower and sink, also this is great layout as lots of room in living area, buy the way we have later model than hhh and just removed a swivel rocker and replaced it with a lazy boy chair
previous camper was laredo 271 rl basically same layout. 285rl only available in dealer stock as not being built anymore

Where did you find a Lazy Boy that would fit in the hole behind the slide (slide in)? All we are finding are too wide and/or deep.

Look at the Cruiser Sahara CF280RL. Looks like the 285 with a different name and outside color...

later 285rl does not have table between chairs, took one out and when traveling we just flip the chair so it sits mostlly over the other swivel rocker that has been turned sideways
the back of the recliner is laying in the seat of the rocker the base of the rocker is facing toward the slide, the strap holds it all tight towards the door

We don't have the table (wish we did) but the rockers are 29" wide and the space is about 29.5". I'm having a hard time figuring how you're doing it????

That would be nice (no couch) but with kids and grandkids we need the bed every so often.

On the rockers, we turn ours facing side to side and pushed up against the back window. We have tried both facing same way, and facing each other as well as the other option (back to back). When the slide is in we have about 1/2" clearance between the edge of the slide and the arm of one rocker. All the recliners I have found are more than 29" front to back and side to side measurement.

I believe LazyBoy has some narrow rocker recliners.

We went to Nebraska Furniture Mart and got 2 Lazy Boy Rocker Recliners. Lazy Boy does make small recliners. I put them in the rear back to back and as close to the rear window as possible. There is about an inch clearance on one side and more on the other. Haven't had any problems yet with them getting to close to the roadside slide.

I am looking at the Cruiser 28RKX Travel Trailer that has a 9' couch, only folds out into one sleeper...I checked with the dealer and I can have a 62 inch couch put in and a recliner and small table...it will all cost $250 additional...or I can do it myself...I have checked and HHH is correct...LazYBoy does make smaller recliners...I have seen them in Goshen at Thor Industries Denali plant...and they are beautiful as well as comfortable...we have a LazYBoy furniture showroom here in Madison, WI and we will be heading there after Thanksgiving to perus what they have...as info
