for some strange reason when my trailer is plugged into the Truck the brake lights, direction signal work but the rest of the exterior lights do not light. is there a fuse for these? and where?


I have an awful lot of problems for a brand new trailer that has never been used.....

that would be your tail/running lights . check on the back of your trucks 7 way plug to see if you have power coming out of the appropriate prong when the running lights are on .
probably your truck .....

There is an issue in your trucks 7-way receptacle plug or the plug head of the trailer. Did you check for corrosion?

If you find the truck plug is OK, trace the power cord on the RV back to an electrical box. It may be a loose connection there.

Did you open up the trailers box where the pigtail ties in?

Do the simple thing first in most trucks with a towing package there are added fuses in the fuse box. One for the left side brakes and signals, one for the right side and the third one is for the lights. Some dealers forget to install these when they do the PDI or once in a while they just get tired and blow
