310 SB Out door kitchen

I bought a 2015 310 SB and this is just a bad design. Has anyone noticed why they have 2 vents going into the camper from the outdoor kitchen? They are open and not bug and heat freindly. I assume they are so you get heat to the out door kitchen but they bring in more cold and bugs than anything. We went to Ocean City Md this year for the first trip and notice we had lots of flies in the camper and the doors were shut. found out they were coming into the vents in the bathroom and bunk house cabinet from the out door kitchen. We had the outside kitchen open for use. If this is for heat to the outside why would they put it inside the bunk house cabinet. I did take them apart and put screen in them so the bugs don't come in. I feel they should have a way to close them from inside for the outside elements. or make a heat run to the outside kitchen and be able to shut that off when using it.

Actually, these are not for heat to go into the outdoor kitchen, but for heat from fridge to escape outdoor kitchen when lid is closed with fridge running.

How hard was it to add the screens?

It was very easy to do. Just took out the four screws on the outdoor kitchen side and cut the sceen to match . I used fiberglass screen it pushed right in and replace the screws 10 min job tops.

Not hijacking the thread, but we've recently had a chemical smell that appears to reside in the outdoor kitchen and when closed up, permeates the rear bunk area. Somewhat pungent, but definately a chemical smell. Fridge is working fine, so not freezer coolant leaking.

might be coming from the drain flush that out well and make certain the trap is good. I will put some toilet chemical down my kitchen drains and into the traps of the sinks and showers

Great advice, but I know that smell all to well. Like I mentioned, it is a chemical odor. similar to "new camper smell", but different. It just showed up after having it serviced at Crossroads. If it was a sealant or adhesive, it would have dissipated by now.

Thanks for the heads up about the flies. I will be adding some screening to those vents too.

Thanks. Mine does not have the built in stove. I prefer the stand alone that quick connects to the trailer.
