Hi.
Any advice as to how to reduce the trailer from moving when someone walks through the trailer? We have only the 4 jacks that came with it. Were thinking of adding more in the middle. Have wedged the wheels so they won't move but it doesn't work.
doesn't make sleeping very comfortable when people are up walking around.
Any suggestions that have worked for you?
Thanks!
Martha

Bal X-Chocks between the wheels stops most of the issues with movement of the coach.

We installed the steadyfast stabilizers. They work very well. A little pricey and hard to install but, they really take the movement out of the rig and they only require 3 t bars to tighten to set up. Worth the money.

Thank you! I'm in Alberta, Canada, and took a look at steadyfast. Looks good. Have you put any of the ones you listed on your trailer?

Since it snowing again and can't go camping this weekend. I ordered http://www.plugitright.com/RVStabilizer.html system and will be installing this week end. I think it the best buy for the $.

The winfield looks great for scissor jacks on travel trailers (which I have).

Aside from locking the wheels to stop the axial movement, I went to a junk yard, picked up 2 scissor jacks from full size trucks. Cost me $10each they are brand new. Still have grease on the threads. I put them under the slide. I made up a block of wood that I hollowed out so it would fit under the adjustment bolts. Adjust the jack just to take the weight off the slide, made a big difference. The nice thing about the scissor lifts is they don't lose tension like the hydraulic ones. Good luck!

The slides are suppose to be self supporting. They don't recommend any additional support. Reason being--if the trailer would happen to settle, there is a chance of bending something if the slide can't settle with it.

Not recomended....... If you over tighten the jacks on thge slide outs it is possible to throw them out of alignment

How long is your trailer? If it is 30 ft or more you will find a support in the middle of the trailer will be a big help. The frames on travel trailers are very flexible and if anyone in your party is 200 lbs or more the frame will flex when they are near the center of the trailer just from normal walking.

No kidding, I read it in the owners manual, they do recommend it especially if you stay more than a week. I will take you advise and try under the frame rails. It did really help though.

I go the Cheapo route. Once level side to side, I have the wife to put a wheel chock behind the rear wheel on each side. Then I back a little to ride the wheels onto the chocks a wee bit, hit the brake and have her put chocks snugly in front of the same wheels. Seems to eliminate the back to front movement.
