So we just picked up our brand new 2011 zinger ZT26BL today. This is our 1st TT. We noticed that on turns the tires change their angles dramatically i.e. where the tire usually sits at 90 degrees to the ground it will angle to 80 degrees. Is this normal and why is it doing this? Thanks

This is normal on all units, remember they do not steer they are just going along for the ride. When I back into a spot I will pull forward two or three time so the wheels line up I think that this makes things easier on the suspension system. Mind you this is my own theory

All two or more axles RV's do this and it is normal. However, you want to minimize this action when/where possible by not making extremely sharp turns as it is hard on the suspension parts. I agree with Frank in that it is better to back up to lessen the turning angle. I have seen people make u-turns into that leave rubber on the ground. Not good.

Are you taking about the camber angle or the stearing angle. If it is the camber then I would say you have a serious problem and your tires will not go more than a couple thousand miles.

My husband thinks it was camber. The tire angled out from the top toward the ground.

If you have movement as described you may have a loose wheel bearing. Need to check ASAP as if it is loose you may have acatastrophic failure.

If it's a camber problem you will see it with the camper going straight. The top will be either out or in all the time. If you think wheel bearing jack side of camper and shake wheel and see if it is tight. What you discribed seems like a normal condition when turning to tight.

the wheels are straight up and down when parked and when going straight. I just emailed the dealer to ask them about it. As for watching... the TT is sitting in a storage lot right now while we tend to a few things before our maiden voyage. And yes it is a maiden voyage as we are very new to this whole thing!

Hey get it checked, my 2011 ZT29BH is getting axles replaced. They toe in at the top when going straight. Mostly the rear axle. The dealer has told me that it sounds like the wrong axles were installed. They take a bunch of measurements then contact the axle manufacturer. The only thing I don't like is that manufacturer is saying they are going to test the axles, when they get them back. If they find no problem I will get the bill. I will let you know how I make out.

I have this same problem with my 2012 26BL but mine also stays cambered on the rear axle while pulling (back axle tires appear to be bottom out, top in on the tire) however the front axle appears to be straight. Is this normal??????????????????

My Zinger wheels cambers when making turns. I had a Forest River that did the same thing, i think its normal as I have seen Jayco's, FlagStaffs and ect... doing the same.

There appears to be some cambering going on but only in turns. It may be possible while backing up. Never moving forward! Had a buddy behind me asking why the axles were tilted in, I did not know. When my TT sits at the dealer lot, I did not back in, it looks like my rear axle is "squatting" both left tire and right tire are toed in. Upon further inspection it appears hat my leaf springs are flat, no arch. I am happy with the dealer thus far, spoke with Crossroads yesterday, Bill Stout, was the rep. I asked for the guy everyone says to ask for. Bill was very pleasant to deal with. I feel very confident that this issue will be corrected. My advise, speak to your dealer. Let them know that you think the axles are toed in. There is a handful of checks they need to do. Also get in touch with Cross roads. I will post the number tomorrow. For what it's worth, lower the nose of the TT and see if your front axle cambers out.
