Awning keeps breaking

My 23 ft zinger is not even a year old and twice now the awning has broken when raining. Frist time the awning filled up w/ water, i had pitch on it, but evidently not enough, when i went to bring back brace down lower, it just collapsed and awing crank pin broke on the opposite side of awning at top where it rolls up. this weekend again, raining, had a lot of pitch on it, and same thing happened. is this part under recall, its very cheeply made, made out of a white metal which is not going to withstand wt. does anyone else have this problem. it takes 4 people and ladders to disconnect this, and multiple trips to get it all home and back to the camper dealer to get fixed. i am tired of this awning.

Not sure what you have? Mine will "collapse" under rain if pitch is not enough. I still pitch one side about 2 holes lower.

You need to lower a side and have it pitch down from the side of your trailer
Most all awning will collapse when water pools on the fabric
So you need to keep it from pooling

the cranking unit is what keeps breaking and the awning crashes down. I did have the pitch 3 holes different on one side. i am trying to attach a picture so you can see its very cheep white metal that keeps breaking. The awning is a pioneer lite.

I see. I would contact the awning manufacture and ask them about it
Do you try to crank it with the awning dropped on one side?
Almost. Looks like something is binding
I have never seen that before sorry I can't help

Unhappy

nope do not try cranking. the first break it came down by itself. this one, i pulled out the side handle to move the side rail down even more of a pitch and the opposite corner of the canopy broke. camper dealer said today its not under warantee because it was raining. so now i am going after the awning manufacturer for a faulty part.
