Awning rail pulling away from side of camper

Hi, I just purchased a used 2009 ZT-190-RD from a private party. I extended the electric awning and just my luck I noticed a gap on the front end of the awning where the fabric rail connects to the roof! I'm completely new to travel trailers... I thought I did my research but I guess there is always something I miss

It has been raining, so I don't believe there are any leaks on the interior of the TT (Luckily!) but I am very concerned with the gap.

What can I do to fix this? Do I need to worry about fixing this? What could cause it? Is the wind catching the awning slightly when travailing or did they have the awning open during a wind storm?

It almost looks like the L shaped bracket is bent where the awning material connects to the metal...

I have pictures hosted on my amazon cloud drive here: https://www.amazon.com/clouddrive/sh...QCaCN5xW86dKzg

Thanks in advance!

The screws came loose. The roofing mat'l should be over the siding already so just re tighten the screws. they probably should be taken out and some caulk squirted into the hole then re inserted. Then run a bead of proflex or similar on the top edge of the rail.
My 2013 had loose screws right from the beginning and I re tightened them this year.

By the looks of the pics and the gobs of caulking for that 4 ft. section it looks like the arm pulled away from the trailer at one time. I would remove the screws, and put a drop of silicone in the hole and retighten. then as above run a good bead of silicone along the top rail

Perfect thank you! Do I need to worry about stripped screws? I'm assuming they screw into a wood stud inside of the wall

If stripped you can either go to a slightly larger screen or you can stuff toothpicks in the hole with a good glue and once the glue sets you can put a dab of silicone on the hole and reuse the same screws

Just to give an update - I pulled the screws out one by one, put some silicone on them, and tightened them back up and it sucked the awning back in! Thanks for the help! There were two loose screws near the middle, I should deal with those soon but seems to be working.
