Help,
we need some advice.... We traded in our older camper and bought a 2012
Zinger in June for a Cross Country trip this summer... Regrettably we ended up
having quite a bit of trouble with it. We had little issues with the camper
from the beginning of the trip. The Jack broke after 2nd use, the cargo
carrier peeled off the back of the bumper even though we had verified with
dealer the weight limits and were within them, - these are just a few of the
little items we had issues with among others.</span></span>
</span>
Ultimately our left rear hub caught on fire
about 2/3 into our trip. We ended up having to cancel our last five stops
and because of the negligent manner in which Crossroads and Lipper
(manufacturer of axles and hub) handled the fix. They screwed up the first
time round sending incorrect parts and incompetent mechanics who wired it
incorrectly causing us to break down 2nd time. There were 8 people
in Auto, 4 kids and 2 people over 65. In the end we ended up having to
drive straight each day for 10 to 12 hours a day, staying at hotels just to
rest, eating fast food as not to lose time trying to get back home for school,
business commitments, and doctors appointments. We ended up missing the
last five stops on way home, and got home 3 days after we were supposed
to. The experience really changed the overall feel of the whole trip -
almost to the point of ruining this our once in a life time cross country
adventure... We are extremelydisappointed in how Crossroads has
been dealing with us regarding this issue. We spent quite a bit of money
trying to get home, due to hotel stays and fast food that were not in the
original plan, never mind that fact that we did not get to take the kids and
grandparents to last 5 stops....We were told by Lipert while we were stuck out
there that they would pay for hotel stays, but now that we are home that has
not happened. We bought the unit
from Crossroads I would have thought that they would at least reimburse us for
the extra money it cost us to just get home safely, but that has not been our
experience... I don't know if we just got a lemon or if we just had really bad
luck but it feels like they are not standing behind their product or their
customers at all...</span>
</span>
Has anyone else experienced something like
this with Crossroads or are we just an anomaly...</span>
