electric jack

Hello was wanting some feedback on electric jacks. Have a 2006 Zinger 2710 BH , wanting to know if a 2500 lb jack is enough or would a 3500lb be a better choice? Besides the weight difference would the 3500 be better for my rig? Sometimes price can vary a great deal between the 2??

Thinking on making a change to one this season.
Thanks

We bought a 2500 for our Z-1, 211RD, with about 600lb tongue weight. It does the job just fine. Some on this board say bigger is better, but let me offer one more consideration. Our Z-1 is VERY close to the ground, because the hitch frame is welded beneath the trailer frame. So physical size, length of jack below the three bolt mount, and length of travel were all a concern. I didn't want that thing sticking down and being a catch point for railroad tracks. I'm VERY happy with the 2500. Check your measurements!

Husky Brute Electric Tongue Jack - PPL Motor Homes

Husky Brute Electric Tongue Jack - PPL Motor Homes

PPL has a couple of very good prices for the Husky Brute series right now. I am waiting for my 4500 lb one to come in. I went with more rating simply due to the fact that I have a front deck toyhauler series, so it is tongue heavy to begin with. It is light unloaded but if I ever needed to raise the tongue while it was loaded I did not want to strain the unit. Let us know what you go with.

Well ordered a jack today. I saw a ad from a dealer in different part of state called them up and verified the ad and price and ordered it. Got a Ultra Fab 3502 3500lb rating. Price was cheaper that what I get a 2500lb for. I did try and have CW price match it, but because of the ad type they could not, which was a bummer as I live 10 minutes away from them.

Should get it on Monday so be happy to get it mounted ASAP ,

Let you know how it works out, thanks

I got mine installed last weekend. Was frustrated for a while trying to figure out why there was no power to it, thinking my bolts were not grounded well. I kept scraping paint around them trying to establish a ground. After 20 minutes I looked at the troubleshooting portion where it stated to make sure the battery ground was also installed.

Such a duh moment. Thing works fantastic, so glad I bought one.
