I'm going to guess that while you are traveling and working in the summer, you will be staying at some kind of campsite with electricity. You'll need it for AC, your computer, and everything else. In that case, you don't need a converter. I don't know the size rig you have, but it would take a MONSTER set of batteries to run Air Conditioning for even a small time. Inverters are used by those who like to "boondock", i.e. camp with no hookups, but still want AC power. (TV? Hair dryer? Microwave?) Lights, heater blower, stove fan, and other stuff runs off of 12 Volt battery power. If your concerns are just electronics (computer, phone, etc) then I would look for a 12VDC solution if you are worried you won't have AC power.
