How to open light fixture

Howdy
Silly question # 34b
I have these light on 2011 zinger.
I see small slits on the side, but when i try prying with screw driver, the plastic bends and doesnt seem to want to open.

Obviously they made these to make me feel stupid, so how do they open ?

thanks.....pete

There is a learning curve in the RV world. Don't worry about it, there are lots of people to hold your hand as you go - fellow campers in campgrounds, forums like this one, etc.

Just remember to turn the light off for a few minutes before you remove the bulb. I nearly lost a fingerprint removing one a few weeks ago.

Hey...I've been RVing my whole life, and with my first TT that had these lights, nearly broke it trying to get the cover off!

I am use to pop-off covers, not slide-locks like these.

pete, are you replacing the bulbs or replacing the entire fixture? I want my husband to replace the light fixtures in our 2011 zinger to the LED fixtures. anyone know how hard that is to do? do the LED fixtures have the same wiring as the fixtures that are there now? I'm thinking that the LED fixtures will be brighter and not run as hot. thanks for any assistance. (P.S. this is our second summer with our TT so we are pretty much newbies still.)
