Looking for folks with Zinger ZT225TD

My wife and I are looking to take the toy hauler plunge. We've looked at several used ones and the thing we don't care for is the "garage" smell. Then we saw an "open deck" TH at a dealer and began investigating. Having the bikes outside of the living quarters makes a lot of sense to us.

We have two large'ish street bikes (FJR1300 and BMW K1200S) that we want to haul.

We haven't seen a ZT225TD in person but we've seen a competitor. The Crossroads looks like a better option for us.

I'd like to know if folks are happy with their purchase, any tips they might have and also what their units weigh when loaded.

Is Crossroads a durable product? Do they support their products?

Thanks for any input!

Welcome to the forum! I know there are some owners of Z-1 open deck toy haulers on the forum. I don't know for sure if there are any Zinger toy hauler owners.

What are the combined weights of those bikes? We have the Z-218TD front deck style. We purchased for the exact same reasoning of having no garage smell.

I run around 1300lbs tongue weight. Just make sure you have a good WD set up. I run the Reese SC series, 1500lb bars. Zero issues going down the road. Is that 225 a front deck set up? If so, keep in mind the weight of the unit empty plus what you will be putting on there....

Just a quick look at that unit. 642 hitch weight doesn't include batteries and propane, plus your 1150. That gets up there. We put around 900lbs on ours and play around with weight location.

I guess I'd be better off in a conventional toy hauler. That's why I'm asking around. I'm a virgin so I appreciate your input.

It all depends on what you plan on pulling it with. You would need a 3/4 ton for that amount of weight going on the tongue

Choosing a tow vehicle is the next step. I'd like to settle on what I'm pulling first.
