I own an 08 26rl Zinger, whenever I fill the fresh water tank or empty the black water tank or tow the trailer for any amount of distance I get a real bad sewer gas odor. I have tracked it down to the area below the sink in the bedroom. I see there is some kind of a check valve in the vent line. I have removed it and checked it out and see nothing wrong with it. I also don't understand how the fresh water and black water odors are connected. HELP PLEASE!

A couple of possibilities come to mind. Your P traps could be clogged. Not sure how to fix it but I have seen the problem described like this before. The p trap in the sink leads to your grey tank. The other issue instead of being clogged is the p trapscould be dry. Does running a little water through the sink fix it? When towing, do you have your vent open or toilet lid up? Make sure there is some water in the toilet bowl to cover the seal. Then close the toilet bowl lid. Make sure your overhead vents are closed going down the road as well. Do you flush your black tank? If not try it. Also try the geo method for your black tank. Do you sanitize your fresh tank ever? If not, you might need to do that too. These are all things that can fix odors. Good luck.

SOmetimes the soap and or DW make up and other stuff goes sown that drain. If the unit is going into storage for more than three week I will put the comode treatment down in the drains this keeps the trap from drying out, which is probably where your odor is coming from

When's the last time you cleaned and flushed your tanks?
Vinegar / Bleach - fresh water
Chemical treatment for grey tanks
Chemical treatment for black tank
