So I called our dealership up to get the TT in for an annual inspection and
asked them to look for a leak. We have found mold one time in a cabinet a few
months ago. We have not found a leak and think it might be from the NC humidity
(the TT had been closed up tight for 2 months in the heat). We now keep vents
open when parked.

When I called the dealership, I asked for them to look for a leak for us and
this is what I got, "You know most dealerships only cover leaks for 30-90 days
after buying a TT." This, we know to not be true. This TT came with a 2 yr
limited warranty and a 5 yr structural warranty. When I told him that, he
stuttered and said, "well we can contact crossroads but they probably won't
cover it and you will have to pay a diagnostic fee." I told him I understood
needing to pay a diagnostic fee if not covered by warranty and he still gave me
a hard time. This was their service manager. I thought about contactingTom Montague or Randy Mischler about how stalling this dealership is but I decided to wait and see how they are after we take it in. It is a CW so I could always let Marcus Lemonis know how his employees cost them money but again I decided to take the high road and see what happens.

We have been considering trading up for a new 5er and if it has a leak and it
isn't covered, then this will be a push towards the 5er. Dealing with the
service department at this dealership is always like banging my head against the
wall. I think this round might be the final straw. This past January, they didn't know anything about crossroads offering the 2 yr
warranty. They also dented myTT while it was ontheir lotearlier this year. I think we will rule this
dealership out for buying a new 5er in the future (even though they are only 45
min from home). Thanks just needed to vent.

Dropped it off today. They still don't believe me about the warranty. I printed out Tom Montague's warranty comparison. The service manager was a little puzzled by it. One nice thing that I did not know about is that if you are a member of Good Sam ERS, you get a yearly 22 point inspection for free.

Is this 22 point inspection from Camping World...for some reason they seem to scare me just a bit. I have a good dealer so I feel I would rather take it to them and pay then to take it somewhere that they may be "looking" for things to fix. JMHO

CW is our dealership. It is a basic inspection of roof, caulking, etc.I will probably go with a non- camping world dealership for the next rig. I have been less than impressed this time around.

Do you mean ESP (Extended Service Plan)? The ERS (Emergency Road Service) doesn't have any kind of inspection plan with it.

It is not an extended service plan. We actually brought it in fully expecting to pay for the inspection. The service manager asked us if we have good sam road service plan. When we said yes, he said the 22 point inspection is free with that. This is probably only true at campig worlds.

I like the montana high country 318re and the sabre 33rets. Weight is my enemy though. The 33rets is 10580 empty, so we would be right around 12K loaded. I have about 2800 lbs to play with on my RAWR and 1400 lbs of available payload. The high country is ok on weight for me but expensive.

Cost 1/2 hour labor this year for the annual inspection. I verified that a copy of the inspection was sent to CrossRoads and I kept a copy. Every issue I have had I contact CrossRoads first then the RV dealer. Didn't get things fixed any sooner but they could not make excuses at to why it can not be fixed with no cost to me.

Cliff,
I actually went to a dealership in WI and looked at the Columbus and was quite impressed. As always I am planning on taking a tour of their plant next year while at the annual CR Rally. I will also visit the Open Range facility as well as the Redwood plant at CR. I too am looking at a 5th wheel now for purchase in 2014.

This fat boy fell in love with that huge shower. It's bigger than the one at my house. I measured it....

My only DD is 5 and is quite the spoiled little princess I think she will get used to a sofa bed. The bunk we have now has the pack n play door and is hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It is pretty comical watching me try to squeeze in there with her to cuddle during story time.

Update----- picked up the tt today. No leaks!!!! Yay!The front light that wasn't working was replaced under my 2 yr warranty. They had the tt for only 2 weeks this time.Of course I had to call them to find out if it was ready for pickup.I left the dealership happy and the tt is now tucked away in its little spot until spring.

Anaro - which CW dealer did you use? I have to take my Zinger in for some warranty work as well (peeling paint). I already spoke to Crossroads (not Randy but I have the gentleman's name in my email somewhere) and he approved the repair.

I'm hoping to have a smooth experience this time. I had to take it in to CW in Statesville this time last year and ended up having to get Marcus involved to get the work done. It took three months, which according to Marcus was 2.5 months too long!!

I am planning on taking it to the old Hawleys this time.

We use the one in colfax. It usually takes them a few weeks. This time it took them a week to repair and inspect and then another week went by that they were trying to get warranty approval. I called to check on it and surprise, it was ready. They could've called me to come get it. They have damaged my trailer once also. Didn't say anything until we noticed it and then they offered a solution. We usually deal w/ brandon. If you keep after him the work eventually gets done.

Thanks Anaro. I took mine to Colfax last year (sorry, said Statesville earlier). I too worked with Brandon.

It was NOT a good experience. I had to get Marcus involved and I ended up getting phone calls from several regional managers, etc. before the repair finally got done. Lots of excuses and apologies. Lots of finger pointing. I even heard from the manager at another CW that my "case" had made their weekly roundtable where Marcus calls out the good and the bad in front of all the managers. Still didn't change the fact that a 3 day repair took 12 weeks.

I won't be going back to Colfax. I'm hoping the old Hawleys does a better job. At least they're closer so I can stop by and check in easier.
