My wife and I are planning a long (perhaps 4 or 5 month) trip to the East Coast. We are concerned about the weather conditions and want to arm our selves with a weather radio ... Some of them only list a 25 mile range .. Is this normaL? Or not to be concerned because we'll soon be in the next "range". Any advice will be appreciated. We hope to leave the end of Feb or early March .

We picked up a Midland. I believe it's a mod. WR-100. One of the guys here on the forum recommended that one. It has worked for us.
Do a google search on them.

My dad gave us a Midland a couple of years ago. I think he got it at Radio Shack.

Walt, do you hang the rock from your awning or a tree limb you can see from one of the windows?

I don't think the rock is as accurate from the awning, should be farther from camper.

Good point, it would limit some of the forecasting abilities if under the awning.
