Wheel Chocks

Bought 2013 ZT28BH in January. First Crossroads for me, but second TT after 2 years in a Salem.....can't wait for the weather to start cooperating so I can get out and enjoy it.

My question is what are people using for wheel chocks? I used the X-Chocks on my old TT which are no longer an option due to the spread out axles. Do I start looking at DIY products or is there something out there pre-made that would work?

Congrats on the new TT. I had a 2011 27BH. I went to Princess Auto (Ontario ) and picked up a pair of solid rubb chocks. Worked great. The rubber held pretty good. Think they were around $15 each.

I use the chocks that go with lynx levelers. As stated above there are extra wide bal x chocks. I have also seen where someone made there own x chocks cut to fit trailer.Edited by: anaro

I use plastic chocks or bricks...works well.

Same ...I just use 4 triangle blocks of wood . 2 each side . Put one behind the front tire , back up 1 " and set the other one in front of the rear tire , put vehicle in neutral to center trailer on blocks and back to park . then you are done. Disconnect and you are camping....

2013 28BH here.
2013 28BH here and I can relate. I will share what I did and I can say I am more than pleased with the results.
1) $5.00 Yellow chocks from Walmart. After you are leveled side to side, hammer one on each of the frt of frt and rear of rear. A small sledge will help set them firm.
2) The X chocks don't spread far enough for our wide stance axles. Pick up Fastways One Step Chock. http://www.fastwaytrailer.com/shop/onestep-chock/
3) Get yourself a couple of 2"x10" boards and cut the into 18"-24" pices. Tie together 2 and 3 boards so you have 1, 2 and 3 high blocks. Use these in appropriate heights at the 4 corners. The higher you can keep the stabilizer contact point, the better.
4) Buy, or assemble a 18"-24" 10"x10", use this under your tongue.
the reason for the 18"-24" lengths is the larger footprint, the greater stabilization.
I am pretty pleased as we have 2 Collies 80 and 90 pounds, a 3 yr old, the wife, and myself and movement is definitely at a minimum. I may try slide jacks, but was tols they can negatively impact slide operation if too much torque is applied to them.

I used the extended X chocks and have no issues with them.

I use the yellow walmart chocks as well and just kick them in. Once stabs are down I place a Valterra chock on each side under the frame. This virtually eliminates all movement and easy to do.

Do not need a mallet to set chocks, just put 1st chock behind front tire and reverse truck and trailer 1/2" , set 2nd chock in front of rear tire, put truck in neutral and trailer will set itself so chocks are tight.....easy. Then it is safe to unhook.
