What specifically do you want to know? We toured factory, and saw Z-1's and Zingers. Basically identical construction except front of Z-1 slopes more. Wood frame/aluminum skin, T/G subfloor with linoleum. Looked well built, and we love our Zinger (our floorplan is now a Z-1).

One thing I learned today when talking to the dealer (who contacted the factory) is that I will be unable to add slide toppers. At some point, they've decided to remove the block framing in the top left/right of the slide room. Hence, there is nothing to "bite" the mounting plates into for the slide topper. Seems like a real short-cut to remove the blocking for those who want a slide topper. Dealer asked if CR would add this in on my unit. Rep said No.
Also requested if they could sell me or ship in the unit a day/night shade to I could install it myself over the skylight in the kitchen. The Rep told the dealer that wasn't possible either.
Kinda disappointed right now - I guess the days of CR going above and beyond are done.

Mike, hard to imagine what is going on with crossroads these days. Our 2010 came with a factory installed nite shade on the kitchen skylite. Can't imagine why that is such a big deal.

From what I have been reading here, things have changed alot at Crossroads since 2010. Must be a costcutting thing to not allow any mods. Funny about the slide blocking, as my low end Z1 has blocking installed for a rear ladder.
Thanks for the feedback on construction on the Z1, but i have discovered my floor decking is OSB. Not sure about the roof.
Also thought the Zinger was aluminum studs? I assume they are booth R7 fiberglass.
Good luck with your new trailer! Post pics when you get it.
Cheers Peter

I believe the Zinger has always been framed with wood studs.

The Zinger is all wood framed, floor joists, decking, studs, and bow rafters.
No idea why they would add blocking for a ladder but not awning slide toppers - they are options on all their other lines (minus Z1 and Zinger). As far as the skylight shade, every other brand has a shade over the skylight in the main living area, I'm still scratching my head why they can't even sell me one.
I've decided to cancel my order for the Zinger - even the "super huge Crossroads" dealer I was dealing was upset but did say that I wasn't the first person to change their mind after discovering certian things about the "new Crossroads" and reduction of warranty on any units produced after September.
Lookingat the Jayco's again, the Jayflight & Eagle both have the slide topper blocking installed and optional toppers installed and a standard two year warranty.

I just wanted to close this thread out, I ordered a 2013 (or 2014) Jayco Eagle 334RBTS - the rear bunk model with a center kitchen island and kitchen slide out. Really excited to have finally made a choice between the many options out there.
Should be ready for pickup from RVDirect in about 8-10 weeks!
