Since we do not get our trailer until March I have plenty of time to read. Mainly I have been looking into add ons or accessories. So are there any must have addons?

Several friends have told me a surge protector is a must. I looked into them and am trying to decide wired in or portable. Any suggestions or ideas?

I am leaning towards a slide topper (previous post thanks to everyone who responded)

And I am probably go with a Reese dual cam hitch.

Hard wired surge is out of the weather, not likely to be stolen (I don't feel that is a big threat most people are honest) and generally offers more features.
I would also consider double pane windows for insulation and noise reduction.
Fireplkace can be a nice option for both ambiance and some comfort on a chilly day.
It is all about personal choice and how you like to camp. Best of luck.

I like having a slide topper, I'm very happy with my DC hitch but if possible I would install it myself because I don't trust dealers taking the time to do it right. As far as items to purchase I would get a better sewer hose. get the surge protector (I have a portable but no preference) and a water pressure regulator. If you're not doing full hook-ups I would get a portable waste tank and come up with a way to refill my freshwater tank. I use a 30 gallon cooler and a 12v pump. Congrats and happy camping.

All good points mentioned, but there will be "A LOT"of accessories that can be added to the list. I would suggest going at it slowly. You have a lot of time to contemplate what you will need/want. Some things will be necessary items and some will be just plain wants. Sort them out in that fashion and maybe you will have some time left over to go camping next season instead of working on your camper all the time.
