Just began to winterize the RV (ST22BH) today.

Was cleaning out the pack and play area when the furnace kicked on. The door to the pack and play covers the vent for the furnace and the heat began to melt the fiberglass exterior of the door.
Caught it before it really got bad but now I have a circle melted area the size of a pop can bottom on the door.

Makes me think that not to much thought went into the placement of the furnace.

We have picked up our Camper in May of this year and since then have found many poor design flaws and poor craftsman ship. If I was to buy another camper I know it woulddefinitelynot be any Crossroads product.

That is a bummer. Sometimes I see furnace vent placement on many different trailers and wonder why they put it there.

I think is is mainly a manner of propane line placement (many are under fridge)and heating efficiency.

One wonders if the CR engineers even realized the hinging of the door would put it in front of the furnace vent. Can you flip hinge of door?

Now that I know what can happen I doubt I will do it again.
Now I guess a nice pc. of stainless diamond plate will cover the concave melted area.....

I find myself constantly wondering if the engineers of these thing have ever camped one day in their lives.
