Bathroom to outdoor kitchen vent.

I own a 32BH. I have a round vent that goes between the outdoor kitchen and the bathroom.

What is the purpose of this?
When I grill the smoke goes right into the kitchen. The vents are large so bugs can get in. And I'm sure it's letting my AC and heat out.

Do I need it? It has to serve a purpose.
Can I cover it up?

Don't cover it , it is there to allow the fridge to breath when the outside kitchen door is closed.
You can do what I did and take off the outer side of the vent and add a piece of screen and re install vent.

Yes we had another post on this. I put screen into mine also. I have 2 of them and we did get flies into ours from the outside. Easy fix. Just take out outside screws cut screen and replace should be something bett CR can do for this. like a vent in the door.
