Angry Bearing problems

Hear we go again with problems on my 30rk. My left rear bearing blew out going on camping trip this last weekend, sat on interstate for 3hrs, route66 roadside service sucks., found a rv mobile service on my own otherwise i'd still be in town i broke down by if route 66 would have done the work. Less than 5,000 mile on trailer. Will probably get rid of it next spring, to many problems and down time. Love the trailer lay out but don't like all the problems.:mad

Never trust the service guys at the dealer to grease bearing properly., and assume that the bearings only had enough grease to keep them from rusting when installed at factory. when you get it home, do it yourself or if you cannot ...find someone that can help you that is not in a hurry. hopefully the helper can tell if the axles are alighned..

Went on another camping trip last week, and more problems. My slide wouldn't go out , would start to go out and one side would stop. Did the snyc steps and found the control flashing a code that their is a wiring problem. Didn't want to push out manually afraid i wouldn't get it back in, so camped with slide closed. Will be getting rid of this piece of crap when i get it fix for the second time on the slide. Has to be a lemon or they just don't have people that know what there doing.

I attended the Hershey RV show a couple of week ago...With so many people on this forum complaining about Schwintek slides I started to look at other manufacturers campers that have them...At the show I saw a couple of brand new 5ers (SOB's) that had the fabric under the bedroom slide ripped do to excessive weight on the rollers of Schwintek slides...All I can say is that I will NEVER own a camper that has a Schwintek slide...

Unhappy slide problems again

Took trailer into dealer for my slide problem and said both motors need to be replaced. Had motors replaced when trailer was 3mos old and was there for a month and a half, hope that doesn't happen again. All the problems i read about trouble with slides on these trailers you would think someone would address this issue and get it resolved. I think slides are to big for motors to handle it. Very, very irritating, don't want to go anywhere, afraid something else will happen. Not very reliable. Had to cancel trips till i get trailer back.

Too bad they couldn't just give you two motors so you can replace them yourself. I don't think it's a difficult job. I'm not a fan of the Schwintek slides either.

You would think with all the problems the dealers would keep them in stock

Those motors are about $190 each. Pricey I hope kidyounger is getting them replaced under warranty.

The motors are along the sides of the slide, some need a bolt taken off from the outside and some of the rubber gasket remove, the unit is then removed from the inside. You Tube has videos on how to remove an install.

Well it's been two months, i heard from Christian and then from a service rep, can't remember his name, but said he would get back to me. More than likely will get rid of this trailer and let it be someone else problem and buy something more reliable, don't have any confidence going on a trip for any length of time. Every trip we have been on with this rig we have had a problem. they have a quality control problem building these

Wife and I took a trip last July from Denver to Seattle, down coast road then East back home. Had a bearing blow out in Gold Coast. I packed all bearings before trip. Called Route 66. Filed claims when we returned home and have had nothing but problems with them. Took close to 6 months for them to finally pay. Watch out for this company.

I know how you feel.
I have used my slides 6 times.
Kitchen and bedroom slides both bad from the 1st time out
I have a guy replacing all the motors , the gear racks and the wiring
Almost 4000.00 and he said they are junk and it going to happen again
And yes the rollers are making the aluminum under the bedroom slide crack
We unload everything out of the dresser before we move the slide
So don't buy a RV with Schwintek slides
