Bicycle rack?

I have a 2015 Maple Country 270 BH and I am wondering if anyone makes a bicycle carrier for this model. The rear bumper is recessed so it does not seem like it would accommodate a bike rack. Does anyone know for sure?

This is what I had on my last one, and adding to the new one.

And this is the type of bike rack I have, deep enough that should clear most any recess. I have an xport, it was cheaper than Yakima, but works fine, no picks out there.

You will get a lot of opinion on mounting a bike rack to a bumper. Some say they are too heavy and the bumper is not strong enough. Others have added a hitch frame to frame to hold the weight. and some others have reinforced the bumper where they attach to the frame.

absolutely will mark. Checked with the dealer, they recommend 2 or less bikes. Or beefing up the bumper to frame.

I would also submit, the bouncing weight is the issue, couple of tiedowns, they don't bounce at all. I make sure I secure my load. My pops as a similar set up as I use (only 1 bike though) with straps. Easily has put 15k miles on with no issues.

If I were to be carrying a cooler, scooter or something heavy, I would go the hitch to frame route. That could present warranty issue though. It opens the door for "you modified the frame".

I stared at the bumper and under for a long time, talked to people around the campground about how they hauled their bikes, looked at a few of their bike racks.
All I could envision was going down the interstate and the bikes flying off and me not knowing it until 2 hours later.

So I bought a couple of folding 26" bikes I could put in the back of the truck.

Make sure to check with the manufacture of the bike rack. A lot of them are not warrantied to install on a trailer or fver

I put 2 eyescrews into the corner of the trailer, where the rubber trim hides screws. They tap into the alum 2x3 corner stud. Then racthet strap around bikes and no wobbling . 15000km and nothing budged.

But if you use tie downs as well, worse case you will just drag them for two hours.....

I made a bike rack, that holds four bikes, that is mounted over the top of the cab of my truck. It takes a little more effort than a bumper mounted bike rack but I have used it over a dozen times and I am happy with it.

Try finding a rack for a tandem bike!

I found a motorcycle carrier at Harbor Freight, added bicycle hoops & Viola!

I usually carry them at a different angle though!! Don't know why some photos from my phone show up sideways??
