I have a separate gray hose just for flushing and it has it's own regulator. I don't want high pressure damaging the connections in the Sani Flush system. As for using a wand to flush the tank, between the commode and the tank are some bends, not like my other trailers with a straight shot.

When dumping I have the clear 45 on the connector to monitor the status. I run the flush until I can't hear it spraying and then dump the black. When it slows down close the valve and let it fill up again. Dump again. It usually takes about 3 times to get clear water. Close the valve and let some water run into the tank. Shut down the saniflush and dump the gray tanks if needed.. Use the gray hose to flush the sewer hose.

Since I'm still new at all this, how important is a regulator for the black flush? I too have a separate hose to flush with so as to not contaminate my fresh water hose. I just never thought of using another regulator.

I didn't either until it was pointed out the same water fittings that are used in the rv water system and limited to abt 55 PSI are used in the flush system. When I upgraded my regulator to a Watts I used the old inline one (read $10 cheapy) for the flush hose. It wouldn't flow enough water for a decent shower but it's fine for the flush.

One way to prevent toilet paper from gumming up the works is by not putting it down the toilet. We use a small step can with a plastic bag in it to place the TP in when we have used it and then toss the bag along with the garbage. We had a major plug with another trailer once and then switched to this system. You also don't have to buy expensive RV toilet paper either.

It is not as bad as you think. Very sanitary, and a lot better than getting something all plugged up. I know of lot of RVers who never flush toilet paper down for the same reason.

We don't let any TP go into the tank. We have the same setup, a small garbage can that gets emptied daily for the TP and other bathroom garbage. I think it's way better and eliminates the potential build up of debris in the tank.

Problem solved I believe!

I didn't want to remove anything or take it back to shop. So I went to Menards and got an elbow designed for hoses. I think it will fix my issue. Also it cost less than $2 and 5 minutes!

Problem solved it worked. I really like the flush. I took some other advice and got a separate regulator for it also. Thanks

X2

I use unregulated water for the flush. As I see it, since the flush is always open, so to speak, there is no extreme presure on the line or fittings leading to the nozzle.

Thanks for that tidbit. I purchased a separate one for this purpose. Rather be safe than sorry.
