Broken T-Handle on Black Tank Drain

Went to drain the black tank yesterday and one half of the T-Handle broke off. Does anyone know if the handle just screws on to the end of the rod? If so, is it a generic replacement I can get at Camping World?

Lefty loosey and righty tighty and you're good to go.

you can make a handle out of anything rigid by drilling through it and using a 1/4 in. nut to hold it in place.

I keep a nut and decent sized washer in the tool kit in case this happens.

Had this happen on our spring trip. CW has an aluminum replacement for about 5-7 dollars.

Both mine r broke, it was that way when I bought it, guess now I know their suppose to be a T

Actually, the cheap plastic handles serve two purposes. First, they're cheap for the manufacturer and any buck they can save on components means more profit for them. Secondly, I think they serve a purpose in the event the gate mechanism is jambed or stuck, the handle will bust first before breaking one of the critical components in the gate. Not probably in mind when they put them on, but I've busted the gate mechanism and had to drive home with a stuck gate..
